Vegas nite life-What gets you in, what get's you out?

Ok, been out of the club scene for a few years, heading to Vegas May 25-29th. Wanna hit the night life, but what to wear?
Suit and tie? or dress jacket, with nice pants and shoes?
Where's a good club with a diverse age group? Hate feeling like a chaperon. I'm staying at the Rio, any opinions on the Voodoo? or are there so many better places? What kinda bankroll should I expect, with the understanding that everyone expects a tip.

Nice denim, colared shirt, leather shoes and youre good.
Tao, Marquee, XS, Surrender, Hyde would top my list. Im 32.
As far as bankroll...depends if youre doing bottles. If not, Id take about $200-250 depending on how much you plan to drink and if you line up a handshake to skip the line.

As far as bankroll...depends if youre doing bottles. If not, Id take about $200-250 depending on how much you plan to drink and if you line up a handshake to skip the line.

+1 - I'm 25 and Chuck's post is exactly what I would have recommended. There's a good range of ages at each of those clubs, which imo adds to the atmosphere. As far as what to wear - I usually stick to nice jeans, collared shirt and a black/navy jacket...almost anything with a collar will help your chances of getting in.

Chuck, correct me if I'm wrong but there are a lot of factors that go into the handshake amount - what night, who is performing, amount of girls in the group, etc. I'd say the average is anywhere from $20-100 for a guy. Just text a host and ask what he can do for you on a particular night

Exactly...handshake entry is all over the board. Obviously a bit lower if there's not a headlining dj, lower yet if you've got girls on your arm, lower yet if you've got a relationship with a host.
