Never been to either of those but have done tapas at other places a few times. Gotta be careful with Tapas as the cost can sneak up on you. Last time I went to one with budget in mind. Then they hand you that massive menu with all that good shit and the leave the menu. Before you know it you have ordered 4 items and drinks and suddenly you're at like $70 per person. I would suggest a sports bar of some kind Thursday. Most of the new hotels have great food in their sports bars and less risk of staring down the barrel of a $1200 dinner bill.
Thanks Chuck, I actually like that idea. The Thursday we are in town will be an NFL night so that works out. I like the book at the Palazzo and a few others. I've heard great things about the Aria book, any experience?
The Aria book is pretty badass...and huge. There's a "to-go" window on the sportsbook side where you can order from the Skybox Sports Bar & Grill too which is handy.

Weirdly enough, I was surprised how good the Cosmo buffet, Wicked Spoon, was. I had a 20 person party book a private table this weekend at no extra cost and just pay the buffet fee for each person and whatever extras, like bottles, they ordered on the side. The food was amazing, you could get up and get whatever you wanted whenever you wanted since it's a buffet, and they got a ton of food for an average buffet price plus a private table that fit their whole group. Plus the place is decorated well, classy, and the foods pristine with lots of options. And they ended up having like 3 servers constantly cleaning the table and pouring drinks which was cool.

Wicked Spoon buffet was on my list of meals for the trip, but I never thought of it as something to do for dinner. Now that you mention it it seems like an interesting idea, and a very cost effective one.

The Secret Pizza joint at Cosmo gets rave reviews.

If you like the Buffet idea of the previous poster the Wynn Buffet is fucking nuts....better than some "fine dining" meals I've had. Otherwise at Wynn I'd do outdoor tables at La Cave or Terrace Pointe Cafe.

I ate at docg a couple trips ago...didn't have the pizza but everything else was bomb...can't imagine the pizza would be sub-par at all.

Secret Pizza was good, but I didnt think it lived up to the hype.

Secret Pizza's great for what it's mostly known for. That after the club and drinking lots of alcohol kinda greasy food. It's the only place open all hours of the night after people start leaving Marquee and it's located in the epicenter of the 3rd floor restaurants at the Cosmo. It's good, but don't consider it as a dinner plan unless you enjoy standing while you eat and dripping grease on your clothes prior to going out.

DOCG was absolutely awesome. Ate there a few weeks ago and everything, including the pizza, was stellar. Pizza is the smaller, thin brick oven style. Unreal. Im surprised DOCG doesnt get more love in general. I thought it was better than the multiple scarpetta's I've been to.

Perhaps the rave reviews on the forums have something to do with the fact that most people from JC eating there have done so at 5am after drinking their faces off...
