Hyde vs 1Oak - Friday Night

I am thinking about surprising my buddies (6 of us total) and just getting us a table and picking up the tab on Friday night (May 18) to start things off right.

I'm considering Hyde and 1 Oak. I've never been to either before. Since they are both pretty new, is their a consensus on them for Friday night. 1Oak seems to be getting some bad reviews outside of here (yes, I know most Yelp posters are dbags) about bad service and unfriendly security.

just ignore yelp when it comes to nightclubs. That being said. You can do both. Hyde to pre-game and head over to 1OAK for your table.

You can't put all the weight in yelp reviews but you also can't really say they have no merit or validity. I think that would be unfair. It would make me feel more comfortable if a venue wasn't so tilted one way, rather be negative or positive, in 1oaks case it is negative. Something I wrong. Something needs to be addressed.....

Hi Noah ! Could you please explain the differance in temrs of crown and music for both Hyde and 1Oak ??

Would you consider them as part of the tier 1 clubs in Vegas or more of a second tier clubs ?

Here's my personal experience mr. Bigpimp .
Last Friday myself on 3 friends had bottle service lined up through Joey Orr (love Joey btw awesome guy) , we walk from the aria to the mirage go through the mirage and make our way to 1oak. Cee lo green is performing that night and none of us could honestly give a shit less about him and we are strictly going for the vibe and to have a good time. As we are walking through the mirage we notice the line which doesn't affect us but is a good gauge to see the type of people that will be in the club. In line there were about 600 people , 500 of which were males and 100 I'm which we're females and we seriously didn't see a single hot girl. Sound rude but it was what it was. My friends quickly called it off and they really aren't even club type people but first impressions are everything and they were dissapointed. I met with Joey, took care of him for working with me and helping me and and being a all around awesome guy. Kinda like going to a car dealer, the dirty base models are in back, the special edition loaded vehicles are out front and in the showroom. First impressions are everything. Now we could of very well went inside got our table and had the time of our lives, but felt it would be too risky to drop some coin and give up a Friday night in Vegas to take that chance.

Going in two weeks. There a lot of great reviews on this board including reviews from posters on your prior thread that I linked. I am looking forward to it.

Side note. From my perspective if a club has all guys lined up outside, then the hosts are doing a great job. The hosts are letting women in and making the guys wait to keep the ratio at the appropriate level. If I see women lined up outside, I know the club is letting too many guys in. Just a different perspective than yours.

I second dex plan of both. Yelp reviews aren't always accurate. However, I've noticed people saying yelp is off with the more popular nightclubs but when it comes to places like LAX no one really says those reviews are off, cause they really aren't. Yelp isn't always bad, criss angels reviews are bad and that guy IS terrible. But with that it really comes to the group you ate with and wouldn't discount 1oak based on that. I'm planning to get tables there on my upcoming trip

I've never been to Crown, but I've also never heard anything good about Crown so haven't been interested in going.

Tier 1 means massive, popular, hot crowd and generally large monetary income in my eyes. (maybe not so much massive but the rest for sure) Neither are megaclubs, and Tier 1 right now is Marquee, XS, Tao in that order.

Hyde's a nice small venue and always had exactly what they promised when I've been.

1Oak I've only been to once and was good the night I went a couple months ago. Joey Orr's a good guy and took good care of an asian bachelorette party I sent him a couple days ago. As far as any night you have a host that's a Hip Hop star or someone like Cee Lo Green, you can generally expect an urban crowd to follow. From my experience, Hip Hop/urban crowds always gonna be very guy heavy in comparison to the EDM crowd. With that being said, I've always been able to find attractive women in the mix and with a table, it's very easy to have a host bring those attractive women to you.

No matter what the venue, always look at the talent/celeb host of the night and expect the crowd to be part of their following.

They're both nice venues and have an attractive layout though.

I haven't read the review on Yelp, but I wonder how many were written by people that didn't have a table. 1OAK is small and the space for those without a table is even smaller. Maybe one of the smallest 'free space' offering of the clubs I been in.

With that being said, a table next to the DJ setup looking over the dance floor would be a good time.

I see that there haven't been any posts on this in years. I am going to be in vegas on a tuesday night and doing a bottle service. Between 1Oak and Hyde being the only 2 options, what do you guys think is my best bet?

1oak will be primarily hiphop with a bit of top40 whereas Hyde plays top40 with some hiphop thrown there. Either place will be solid I would look to see if there is an event at either of the venues and go there. Industry parties are always a great time.
