No one in my group (8 girls) really wants to plan a night of bottle service before hand because they don't want to be stuck at a club if it's not what they are feeling.. I don't know if this is a good idea or a bad idea? They keep saying we can just plan it the night we are there and decide where we want to go. We are going May 10-14 so it's not a long weekend or anything but I just don't know if it's such a good idea to go there with nothing really planned and go with the flow? Should I try to convince them that we should plan something at least 1 night or just go with the flow??
Plan or go with the flow??

I "went with the flow" on one day of my trip last week and the day got pretty much wasted. Plus, unless money is not an issue for your group, I think BS needs to be planned due to the expense. Otherwise, you may wind up wanting to do BS but blew all your money because you didn't plan for the expense.
I guess if it won't put a damper on your trip if you don't get a table or don't get the location you want then wing it. By the way, there's nothing to say you can't change your mind the day of a switch venues. I'd plan something and have a backup plan or two in case you change your mind.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

It's Vegas...you are likely going to have fun no matter what. The thing most people don't realize is that the fun scale in Vegas is based on a "curve" if you will.
Vegas = fun, so yes you're having fun, but are you meeting your groups fun potential if you haven't planned anything? Probably not.
There are definitely degrees to planning as well. You don't need to go all out and plan every second of every day, but you should at least have a game plan of where you plan to go some basics such as open bars for ladies, DJ's you wanna hear, etc. That doesn't mean you guys can't call an audible, but at least you have something to fall back on

Chuck nailed it. It's always good to have 2 or 3 options per night. One of them being your ideal place, a top tier nightclub maybe, and then if that's sold out (where even groups of women can't get in) then it would help to have another place in mind that is relatively close by and less of a logistical hassle. Also, it's good to have a default spot that everyone can meet at while still getting drinks. Keep late night food options in mind. While there is something always open, at 3 AM, not every night spot is located near a decent take out place.
Like Warren and others have said, with 8 girls, you're probably going to have a good time no matter where you go, even if you didn't plan on being there. However, it can be a nightmare trying to get a solid consensus after drinks have been flowing and the night is wearing on. And that's just my perspective as a guy who travels with groups of 2 or 3. You could maybe split up into two or three groups or something like that so there isn't a burden on one or two people to persuade everyone to gamble on the "perfect place" that night.I just don't give a shit.

This is a great idea...one thing I hate about having a group in Vegas is trying to get everyone together, especially if you're staying at different hotels. At minimum establish a rendezvous point and set a time to be there. Make sure everyone knows the window (30 minutes or whatever) and if they're not their the group is moving on and they'll have to catch up later.Originally posted by HunnyBadger View PostAlso, it's good to have a default spot that everyone can meet at while still getting drinks.
Anymore it seems like I plan 1 or 2 big things and then just have options predetermined for the rest of the time. However, when it's just my wife and I we'll plan a little less and go with the flow because we've traveled together enough times we're always on the same page and love it when we meet new people and unplanned adventures ensue.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Just like guys, there needs to be a girl who's the alpha female to take charge of the group. It would suck if it ends up all the females splitting up to do different things because you couldn't make a decision. What would be the point of you being in Vegas then (this is just strictly at night time when it might/can be tougher for even females to get into nightclubs)FO SHO.Originally posted by redbullvodkayou're not ditching them, they're ditching you by not going.Originally posted by kimballYou want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

So true...my one regret from my last trip is not being more adiment about what we did on Friday. Turned into "what do you want to do"..."what do you think"...."maybe this, maybe that"....before you know it your day/night is gone and you're left saying "damn I should've just said this is what's going down....who's with me?" If I'd have done that we would have partied it up @ Hyde rather than everyone on their own in the casino all night. Still had fun Friday night...but didn't maximize the opportunity.Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Women don't get bottle service unless it's a bachelorette party.
Go all out the first night and mingle until you find a group of suckers, I mean nice guys, who are so intrigued by you that they'll tell you to join them at X club the next night.
I've been to Vegas with girls sort of tangentially in my group and that's how it's done.

This happened to me in the first few times I did bottle service. But, on my second time doing bottle service, one of my friends told a really insistent girl who wanted to sit at our table, something like: "No! You're not pretty enough!" (She was Asian and my friend has yellow fever).Originally posted by tombrokaw View PostWomen don't get bottle service unless it's a bachelorette party.

So...what I'm trying to say is...just try not too hard for it and actually chat and look interested with the group of suckers you're with.

Well what a coincidence, I'll be going with a group of guys May 9th-13th
Like said above though you'll find a group that will have no problem inviting you to join their table
If you decide to do GA let me know cause we'll be trying to bypass the line with the tips from this forumWhat happens in Vegas, well it happens there, duh.

Well said...There has to be some sort of decision maker in the group. Get a feel for what your group wants to do and go from there.Originally posted by ashroid View PostJust like guys, there needs to be a girl who's the alpha female to take charge of the group. Also, bounce some ideas off the group before you even leave for Vegas. I'm going with a group of 5 plus me and I know how it will work if we don't have an idea of what to do. One of my buddies(there is one in every group) wants nothing to do with planning the trip, yet when we get down there he will either complain or will want to do something totally different...Count the cannons....
