Host Shopping?

I have a question which is in line with this thread I guess.

I was looking for a Tao host and contacted Matt Pearson who referred me to Danny Rodriguez.

I sent Danny an email requesting quotes for bottle service for MDW and he was really good at getting back to me.

My concern though is that I haven't seen Danny mentioned on these forums whilst Chris Traer at Tao comes highly recommended. So I was wondering whether I should contact Chris, or if I should stick with Danny as I have already made contact with him? Has anyone worked with Danny before?

I'd say if Danny is workin' for you then stick with him. Looks like he's been at Tao for a couple years so if he's still around I'm sure he's doing a nice job.

Just because a host isn't listed on the site doesn't mean that you won't have a good experience. Many people use their own list of hosts that they've built a relationship or got in contact with through a recommendation.

If your experience is going well with Danny and you feel satisfied with what he's offering, then stay with him.

Chris Traer is definitely recommended by the site and forum members including myself. Most of the time, that is who will greet you at the podium at Tao Beach as well

Ha! That's my point though, Chris seems to have developed a good rep on here, whereas I haven't seen anything on Danny and thus have nothing to go on. I'll stick with him though and hopefully will report an equally good experience! Thanks for the input peeps!

This is the type of information I've been looking for. I discovered the role of hosts in nightclubs back before the creation of the Jack Colton site and have only on few occasions contacted hosts mentioned on this site.

Most of the hosts I contact either don't work in the industry anymore or they don't post on here. I guess it's a blessing and a curse for the hosts that do post on here as they potentially get a lot of business or a lot of headaches from so many questions and "maybe"-bookings.

I'd say if you do meet a host that isn't listed on here, ask around and there's a decent chance that people may know of her or him. They then may be able to give you a review on that person's customer service.

If he came recommended from Matt Pearson, I'd say he'll take good care of you. I don't personally know Danny, but I've worked with Matt and he's who I send people through for TAO Nightclub.

I gotta say the person listed for PURE - Irene Pham is pretty bad.

I asked about a bottle deal and was flatly refused, but then another poster told me he had the same problem with her and just go around her to another host and 'voila' magically I had a B1G1.

What's the point of having her as the main contact for PURE if she's terrible?

Can't comment on PURE, but a host that a friend recommended to me was able to get me a 1-bottle minimum deal for Surrdener on Friday night. We had 6 people. Everyone else that I reached was only willing/able to do a 2 bottle minimum.
I wasn't "shopping" but a buddy told me to text his "guy" and see what he could do. Table was fine (I told him I didn't need a "prime" table but didn't want to be in the bathroom either) and service was great.

If you don't have any kind of relationship with a host, shop around. If some of you are waiting for a host to advise you to shop around, your gonna be waiting a long time.

Also, regarding listed host, sometimes those host are actually chosen by the clubs, not Colton. But if enough complaints come in, he'll usually change it. Honestly, not enough people complain though. Most just move on to another host and don't mention the issue.

If you are weren't satisfy with what you got from her then try another host. Look around here and see who people are using for pure. I know Thomas Gorman works there and he takes care of a lot of members. I havent used him at Pure but i have at Wet Republic. Shoot him an email or text and see what he could do for you.

Who or how do you contact a hosts boss if you'd like to communicate with them about your experience? I'm a firm believer in communicating the good and the bad with everyone I do business with. That's the only way improvements can be made and employees can get proper recognition. Most of the clubs' websites don't have much in the way of contact information.

No clue TBH. For Jack's listed, best to channel complaints through Jack and he'll know who to talk to if it's valid or frequent enough.

One more thing... I'd comment on... not giving a bottle deal doesn't make you a "terrible host" just because another host gives you one.

I've never dealt with Irene and I don't know the specifics of your interaction, but not giving people bottle deals does NOT make a host terrible. Hosts can't give everyone bottle deals and have to use discretion. Just because you're a member here doesn't entitle you to a deal with every host.

+1. As well, I can't comment on Irene Pham. I've never spoke let alone met her. I contact Brandon Ring for my Pure needs. He's awesome. He used to be listed under the Jack Colton contacts, but not for a while now.

Any thoughts or experiences on firing off a text to a few hosts at 10pm the night of saying Ive got $800 & $150 tip for a table and seeing if anyone gives u a go?

What's the worst that can happen? I'm quite certain someone will be glad to take your cash that night. If not roll it on over into a daybed the next day?
