  • A good way to collect table money from a group?

    Ran across this site: https://www.wepay.com/

Seems like it would be great for people planning any kind of trip or bottle service where more than a few people are chipping in.

Thoughts? Has anyone used this or something similar?

Seems like a good idea...fee's seem reasonable...although if you were collecting $6000 you'd be charged a little over $200 in fees assuming everyone used credit cards.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

If someone does want to go in on a table with me, and they prefer to put it on their card, I'll use Square - www.squareup.com - which was created by one of the co-founders of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.

You can either use the Swiper that fits into the audio jack, or you can manually enter the card through their iPhone / android app. If you swipe, it's less expensive to process as its "card present" instead of keyed.

I let them know for Credit Card payments, I charge a bit extra above the total to offset processing fees, so for example if it's $200 a head, then I'll charge $205 and that covers my processing fee.

Usually the money is collected by the Lead aka person who contacted the host and reserved the table.

Cash money(only) at the meetup/pre-game spot is given to the Lead and we pay in cash or all cash is collected by the Lead and given to the person who is putting on their Black Amex Person with the credit card for the table closes out immediately and any further bottles are paid cash or confirmed with the Lead before any charges are allowed.

Cash is King IMO. You can't dispute cash charges, no paper trails and no hassle of someone not chipping in what they should at the end of the night.

That being said, if you're asking if it can be done, you're probably not at the level where you could pull it off.

You want to be at the club where girls want to be... not where guys get good bottle deals.

This is good but all you need to do is get bros that you trust. Just let them know that they need bring cash and the amount and it's all good.

This. The only thing I've packed so far is my card reader. Cash has a funny way of disappearing when walking through the casino, and it's cheaper than cash advance fees for those working with plastic.

definitely paypal BEFORE we get to Vegas. I hate chasing people down for money while on vacation. No pay. No play.

Seems like a good idea but I still say cash only works best. You can always dispute a cc charge.

Square is awesome. I use it when having to collect rent on rental properties. Add 3.5 and you are completely covered.
