  • Is LAX really that bad?

I have a crew of 11 or 12 guys coming to the Invasion and people don't really wanna spend the money for a table at Marquee since they're not all huge clubbers. I want to keep the group together, so I thought since we have wristbands for LAX I could get everybody to go there. Plus anybody who wanted to get a table could chip in on a bottle without making the non bottle guys feel left out.

    Thoughts??

The way I think of Vegas clubs is, IF you're not into the certain DJs that do come to some of the popular clubs, it doesnt matter where you're going to be.

Only reason my group picks certain clubs is because we're into the music and the vibe of each DJ. LAX will fulfill what you guys are looking for as far as club atmosphere, alcohol and people.

the bad thing is its too small and crowded for my liking. the good thing is the girls will flock to the table areas just to get away from the crowd (and some to mooch off bottles of course haha). having a table is the ONLY way to do it at that club.

It's small and dense, but there are tables that aren't right up on the dance floor, and security is pretty good about not letting people just roll up on your area. If you're a dance floor rat, you make your own space.

In terms of mAyOD though, I did the LAX to Marquee jump last year. Paid like 30 at Marquee at 2:30am for Kaskade, but I drank that amount in the open bar before 11 and still hung at the cabana and on the floor for a while, so it evens out.

The silly search button won't let you search for things like XS and LAX, so trying to search for any of the many postings about LAX just doesn't happen.

Personally, I enjoyed LAX. It was the only venue that got nearly 100% of the group together on the dance floor - tunes wise. I had a lot of fun, the bartenders were great and the bathrooms were good. I made the jump to Marquee to hang out with the splinter group and even though Kaskade was great and the cabana was legendary, I ended up slightly regretting leaving LAX as soon as I did. That could have been attributed to the stress of trying to get in to club (door was a clusterfuck, but I praised Allah for being the last person to join a table for the rest of the night - AK2Vegas and his group were not as lucky) but I felt like I left the party too soon, a Blitz*, if you will. I'm definitely not suggesting LAX is better than Marquee (I've had some AWESOME nights at Marquee) or that they are comparable tiers but any Vegas club is better than any club you've been to outside of Vegas. It's still a party!

LAX was "free" with the wristband, hosted open bar (including Red Bull, I cannot stress that enough), gave Colton a free table and bottles, played great music and we all had a great time. I got the bartender's number, that's all I remember about the quality of tail, but the cup of bitches seemed to be runnenth over.

For that many guys in your group and if no DJs spark your interest elsewhere I can't see it being anything but positives. If you want to club hop, that's great too, but I had a fucking blast at LAX during Mayvasion. AOD brings the party ANYWHERE.

I didn't really like LAX I thought it was a ghetto crowd but maybe it was because a rapper was performing...I had bottle service and our security guard and waitress were awesome!

ya if the group is all at LAX and its already fun and poppin there, I would stay at LAX. Club hopping is a bitch especially when its a club thats already hard and not easy to get into in the first place. You'll spend 1hr or more to travel and trying to get in. Thats if you even get in smoothly. Thats a wasted hour where you can be having fun at the club you were at.

If LAX totally sucked and you werent having a good time, thats when I would change scenery and try something else. You just have to feel it out when you get there.

Great input, thanks. Especially Aria for the Blitz clip! I can understand why some people may not have liked it too much. But when 2/3 of the group did an insta-bail when they found out how much a table at Marquee would be and who probably wouldn't notice the difference in quality of the club anyway, it seems like the most solid plan. Plus AOD will be there for at least part of the time so I'm not too worried!

What are the table deals like in there? Would there be a problem with getting 1 or 2 bottles but having everybody at the table?

The only memory I have of LAX from last invasion is some guy with a curly fro that was completely wasted spilling his drink everywhere. I tried to help him but he was too far gone. Dancing and seeing some guy with a mullet. Oh and Aria shuffling...good times.

Very interesting to see opinions on LAX. I am staying at Luxor at the end of the month so we will be getting a table there one night. It will probably be Friday night. Got a good deal in the works so I'm hoping it is decent.

                          Basically what she (aria) said.

I've liked LAX every time I've went. The vibe is always good and there's always a bunch of ladies I can deal with not having a headlining DJ.

Considering a DJ does not determine where I go, I feel better about my upcoming night there.
