Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

10 years ago I would have said Miami but nowadays it's Vegas hands down. Alot has happened over the years. South beach has gone down the shitter, IMHO, and Vegas is out of control

I live in Miami and go to Vegas about 2-3 times per year. They are completely different experiences. If you enjoy the all-out club scene and the crazy pool parties, then stick to Vegas. If you want to spend some time relaxing on the beach or lounging by the pool during the day, and hit some exclusive nightclubs, then Miami is your spot. Miami currently has no pool parties that compare to Vegas, except during major holidays or event weekends like WMC/Ultra. So if pool parties are a must, avoid Miami. The only mega-clubs that compare to a Vegas experience would be LIV, Mansion, or Amnesia, and even they are not even close in my opinion. That's not to say Miami clubs are worse--they are just different.

The nightlcubs in Miami are similar to NYC. They are smaller and more exclusive. Crowds are not as friendly and there is a good mix between locals and tourists. With three guys, if you don't have any connections, you will not be able to get into any major club without buying a table. If you happen to meet three girls, you will get in no problem. All Miami clubs have ropes. There are no GA lines like you find in Vegas. Most of the time even ratios are required, and they are somewhat selective of who they let in.

Table service, however, is much cheaper in Miami than Vegas. Bottles in Miami are around $300, where Vegas they are typically $500. Most clubs have a two bottle minimum.

South beach at the moment is more laid back by day, party by night, but on a much smaller scale than Vegas.

TOTALLY agree! I used to go to Miami a lot (many years ago),and the last two times I went, in the last two years, South Beach has been pretty lame. Seems like the "in" crowd has moved on. There is a different "element' in SoBe. I'd go to Vegas, hands down.
