Best time ever @ Surrender this past weekend

I can't believe I had the best time in Vegas ever this past weekend at Surrender. The combination was just so perfect.
Good friends, good crowd, Bingo Players was DJing, got in quick thru GL from MT.

I've been to Vegas 100+ times. Been to many nights at Marquee, XS, Surrender, Gallery, Prive, LAX, Haze, Bank, Jet, Chateau, Tryst, Tao, Lavo, Studio 54, Pure, Blush, Crown, Drais and Rain. I've never had a most amazing f'in time until last Saturday. There have been some awesome nights through the years and even just the last 6 months, but I'm still in awe of how the night turned out.

I guess my point is that it doesnt take bottle service, a specific Tier1 club, the super top DJ of all time, or big money. It just took a good group of friends and an open mind to enjoy yourself where ever you are. I'm still in withdrawals after that night. I want to go back so bad. LOL. Even though we go every month, this time was hard to brush off. Feenin bad to go back.

Co-sign this completely. Been to a bunch of clubs in Vegas and after going to surrender for the first time this last trip for Aoki it is now my favorite spot.

Dont forgrt to mention you can actually move around there, there's a ton of room and makes more people relax feel at eaze and sets for a great overall mood and vibe.

I've always been into house/EDM music for most of the last decade. I've listened here and there but didnt really keep up with it on a daily. The last couple years I've been more into the scene and followed alot of the new stuff as they came out online, beatport, etc. I think knowing more about the music plus being there with others that felt the same way enhanced the enjoyment of this trip.
BTW, I'm 36 with a family, business owner and I dont usually party much other than at Vegas.

So this trip I came with my usual Vegas buddies. My good friend and his gf, another homie of mine and a couple other girls. We actually came to town to watch the NHRA drag racing event at the LV Raceway. A couple of us work in the industry and got special line passes to get in and was able to stand 50ft from the starting line. So that made for a great day to start out the weekend.

We got into town Friday night around 11pm. We kind of started late from LA and took us 5 1/2hrs to get there compared to the usual 4hrs when there is no traffic. Checked in at Encore and there was a pretty big line which we didnt expect. We were already eager to get ready to go out so that threw off our plans to check in and head to a club right away. By the time we got ready it was about 12:30am. We called our other buddy who got in town earlier but he was stuck with his chick at Spearmint. It was her shift and she wanted him to just hang out and chill.
The girls that were with us were saying lets all go. I'm not a big strip club fan and same with my friend(who's gf was with us). Somehow I think its a trap to get guys to go and see what they would do. LOL. So we turned that invitation down and we decided to check out XS or Surrender.

By this time it was around 1am and we decide to check out XS first. NO line, and it was Cazzette DJing for the night. We called up a friend who was in there already and he said it was whatever that night. We tried to hit up our contact if he could hook us up in getting in since we didnt want to pay if its going to suck. No go on that, couldnt get a hold of him so we decided to pass that up. I knew Surrender would have been a better choice that night but we had already planned for Bingo Players at Surrender on Sat so we decided to check out Marquee instead and try to get in there since Benny Benassi was there.

So we drive to Cosmo and by this time it was around 2am already. There was still a decent line and people still trying to get in. I couldnt get to the front to ask the usual guy I hit up to get in. By the time I was able to talk to him, he said it was capacity at the moment and people arent leaving sooner than they thought. So we'd have to wait a bit. I asked even if we got a table for just 3 people? He said nah, we can't at the moment and we'd have to wait 30min to see if people start coming out.

We called our buddy who was in there and he said it was crazy packed. I guess they werent even letting guys get on the dance floor since it was so packed. I've never really tried to get in a busy night at Marquee at 2am so I dont know if the capacity thing was true or not. But I didnt want to make a big deal out of it and we just decided to chill at the Chandelier bar for a bit and hang out. We ended up getting hungry and ate at Peppermill. Went back to Encore, gambled for a bit and knocked out around 5am.

Saturday, I had to get up around 9 so my buddy can pick me up so we could head to the track. We got done there around 6 and met up with our friends at Grand Lux at Pallazzo. Had our usual favorites, Chicken Parmagian and more Chicken Parmagian. lol.
Time flew by so quick and it was already 8:30. We wanted to get to Surrender around 10:30 and we still had to walk back and get ready. You know how women are, they need like 2hrs to just get ready so this was cutting it close.

Marquee was definitely VERY packed on Friday night, you couldn't even do bottle service to get in. I had to talk to several hosts including Justen Crews to try and get in, but he didn't even want to hear it, and walked away even after offering him a tip to just get walked to the front of the line as a JC member (i wasn't too upset by this since the place was really crowded, and i did show up at "prime time", cant really blame him).

After talking to a different host and him giving me shit about not ever showing up that late again (i don't blame him, at least he listened and talked to me about it), he took care of me to come in after a couple of minutes...Lesson learned... that's for sure. Gave me his card, and asked me to just ask for him next time if I want to do bottle or show up early. With that said, I will definitely be hitting him up for bottle service next time I'm at Marquee. Stuff like this goes a long way with me.

On another note - Surrender is awesome, I was there to watch Porter Robinson about a month ago. Wish I would of gone to Bingo Players on Saturday, sounds like they played well. I'll have to check out their set. =D

Cliff notes on the rest of the nite. I have alot of work today so I cant get in super detail.

In line we meet some girls looking like young Kristy Swanson, Taylor Swift and couple more of their friends(from East Coast). We chill with them for a bit and theyre in town just the night and its their first time in Vegas. Except for Kristy Swanson who is some rich chick from LA. End up at a table with a bottle and my friend is trying to get me to go wingman but I'm already working on this other chick from another group of girls.
This maybe a guy rule faux paux what I did but I couldnt drop what I was working on to deal with the fat chick that was in the first group. Long story short, the friend wants to leave since she's tired so that whole group bounces even after I end up sitting over there and trying my best to keep them company.

So I end up inside again and this grandma starts dancing with me. haha. I wasnt going to be rude and push her off. It was super packed in there so there was no where to go. She ends up pawning me off to her granddaughter a couple minutes later who was pretty cute. LOL. Interesting night so far.

I go back to chill with the friends I rolled in with and we were all into Bingo Players so it was pretty sick to hear the set. Wish it would have been longer but 2hrs was cool and we enjoyed it.

Through the course of the night, I end up dancing with some other chick. She was with some other girl and his bf. Weird thing was... the guy ended up asking me to go dance with his GF. I was like sure man. haha. Did that for awhile when he went to the bathroom.

A few more interesting things happened to just top it off. It was a great time at Surrender again. Can't wait to go back. I've always made PH, PH Towers, ARIA and Cosmo my home hotels when we go to Vegas, but I think I might have to stay at Encore more often. Nice to just take a 5 min walk back to your room from the club.
