You should find another host. There is absolutley no reason the host should not be replying back to you!! If he isnt there for you now who knows what will happen when you arrive that night.

The main contact on this site for TAO just shifts you over to a junior host. To me this is no different then contacting the venue directly (which I ended up doing).

If the host isnt responsive you deserve better service!! I contacted the venue directly and they had a host call me back a few hours later.

*DISCLAIMER* I do NOT endorse this "vip" hosting company. Just using their floor plan!

I'm doing a Thursday with a group of 6 (50/50 ratio). My minimum spend was at $1250 & $250 host tip. After this little discussion with dnix I'm going to bump up to $1500/400 and make sure we get to the club before 11:00. My goal....Cabana 21.
I like 21. Just depends on what kind of clientele they have that night. BTW...youll actually be spitting 21. Its divided with ropes.

Cabana 21 is cool!! We had half of Cabana 21 with 6 people a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. The other half was a bachelor party that went through 8 to 10 bottles of Grey Goose because the security guard kept sending bottle rats in all night (kept us laughing all night!!).

There is a rope that separates the area down the middle. You will have plenty of room. Plus its alot more private then a table in the general population area.

Try to get Cabana 21 or 22. Cabana 20 is OK, but the view is better from 21 or 22.
how much did that cost you for a saturday night?

I emailed 3/23 and asked if it would be cool for me to have a cake delivered by an outside company. He replied same day and said he'd look into it and get back to me asap.

3/30 rolled around and I hadn't heard anything so I sent a short email asking if I should contact the venue directly re: the cake. They had the Perez Hilton party that night. It was Friday evening when I sent the email so I told him I didn't expect an immediate response.

I'm really trying to be as easy as possible to work with. I guess if I don't hear back today I'll have to contact another host. I'm very loyal and don't feel good about it, but this is exactly what I didn't want to happen when working directly with a host.

got a host for TAO you recommend?

The cabana was a $2500 min (plus tax and gratuity) and I gave the host a $200 tip.

After checking out the Opium Room (which was way overcrowded) and those horrible tables they have in the hallway I would recomend making sure that you are somewere in the main room. Its definately worth the extra money for the experience.

I called the venue directly. I spoke to a host over the phone. He took down my contact info. I told him what I was looking for. He gave me some pricing, but he told me the pricing might change by that Saturday.

Then during that Saturday another host emailed me back to confirm we were still coming. Then I got a text from another host a few about 8 PM. Then we showed up about 10:45 PM and gave them our name and a host walked us to the table.

I tipped the host we met at the entrance rope and told him what area we wanted and negotiated everything before we entered the venue.

It would be nice if this forum could get a TAO contact that actually wants to work for the group. The current TAO contact just passed me along to a junior host who wasnt very responsive, so thats why I ended up contacting the venue directly.

If I got this level of service spending $2500 min I can imagine what happens with lower min spends.

I have always heard back same day too. Some in a few minutes and some in a couple hours, but I have never been ignored.

lol...appreciate the honest....but you know a lot of host would not answer this question honestly, or at the very least dance around it. No host wants to say that they cant give the best deal, service, ect. over a coworker, and I cant blame them. I wouldnt.

Asking a host you have a good relationship with, and has been it for awhile, sure. Asking Joe Blow host. NOPE

                        That's more like it!

Chris Traer hit me up minutes after getting my contact information. Exchanged two messages, and done. Feeling as though I'm in much better hands!
