3 dudes in July - should I abandon all hope...?

Hey,

I am glad to have found this forum and have eagerly read through many of the posts already. Also, having been to Las Vegas about 14 times by now (I live in Europe, so for me this is kinda a lot ) I do know how "it works"... well more or less (nothing compared to the advice given here though).

My current problem is that this summer I will finally be able to make it to LV for my birthday and I am bringing along 2 Vegas virgins. One dude is only interested in wasting his money at Black Jack (I doubt he knows the Casinos have clubs) and the other dude has never been to Vegas, let alone on the American continent (yeah I know; hiding under a rock and such).

I think you can already predict my dilemma: I want an excellent birthday (which falls on a Saturday) and have my ideas:

- Steak at craftsteak (or similar)
- Limo to Spearmint Rhino to wet our appetite
- Hitting XS (if possible; I never been to XS, hence my choice)

Now 3 dudes are not exactly top of the bouncer's list, we're not exactly the "cool club type" and I am not sure if hosts would bother with us either (it's high season, it's Saturday and we're not even taking a table).

Any ideas/tips to help a brother out making his birthday a memorable experience without standing in line for 2 hours?

I think you have a few options:

1. Contact a host directly at XS and ask if a $100 tip can get you past the line. I'll bet if you get there early (before 11:00) you'll be good.

2. You could contact an outside host like Noah or Chad (if he's still around by then) and I'll bet a similar tip will get you in without trouble.

3. Tell your friend to lay off the blackjack and do a bottle with you. Think about it, he can drop $200 in 15 minutes playing blackjack, OR you guys can party like fkn rockstars all night for your birthday. If he chooses blackjack throw him out of the plane when over the Atlantic!

Also, I like your idea with the throw out. TSA might give me grief though

I wanted to add that on Sunday after my birthday bash, I would like to hit Wet Republic (if we manage to get up) as we are staying at the MGM. Do you think I can get somehow on a guestlist or comped by the hotel? Would a "$20 sandwich" work when checking in (possibly at their airport check-in) or any other sort of handshake?

I was also quoted $60/dude for hosted entry by vipnite.com but you could do the same thing directly with a host at the club for as much or a little less.

edit: Call the concierge at your hotel re: guest list for Wet Rep. I used the concierge at other hotels to get on guest lists. However, it was just my wife and I. You may have a hard time getting 3 dudes on a guest list. I'd just plan on $50/dude at each place and contact a host before you get to the spot.
