  • Tipping the bus boy

I know there was a thread on here about tipping the bus boy and the perks associated with tipping the bus boy, just can't find it. Can anyone share their experiences of tipping the bus boy and whether or not it was beneficial? If so how? If not, then why?

Thinking of tipping a bit more this time around to the bus boy to get a bit better service.

      ^ This!!

I try to tip bus boy's much as I can. Actually they are the one busting there ass out there to make sure your table is taken care of far as glassware, water, ice, ashtray's, napkins, cleaning your table etc goes to.. all night long. They are doing the heavy work.

And if you take care of them properly they usually take care of you by giving you free bottle waters all night or helping you to take the rest of the booze you might not finished on your table (speaking from the past experiences )

I always take care of my busers.

Once, I was hanging with some guys that had a table. (Thank you security for the introduction). The buser remembered me from before (I have had bottle service at this club a number of times before) and he let me and my ladies stay at the table long after our hosts left. Bringing us waters and being awesome.

After reading this thread I'll be tipping our busser nicely at the beginning of the night. May have overlooked them otherwise...thanks everyone.

I usually just bang it out with a 50 each in the beginning, and add if they're killing it.

I just hope I can tip discreetly...my friends will think I'm a crazy man if they watch me hand over $400 to different people before we even take a sip! They won't get it, and that's fine, I just want everyone to have a good time.

I actually was a busser for a month. Most people don't realize the work that goes into it. Hands down hardest working guys in Vegas. Never over tip waitress always tip busser!

Bussers/Table Attendants can make you look really good. A very attentive one will keep an eye out for you and count how many women you're walking back to the table with. They'd then have shot glasses setup already and will also call over the cocktail waitress so that she is ready to pour out. Better yet, the shots will already be chilled and ready to consume. Another sign of good service is that when you're there with smokers, there is already a lit lighter the moment someone in your party whips out a cigarette.

The most epic busser service I got was from a guy named Justin at Marquee. The guy would run drinks back and forth to me and my party from my patio table into the middle of the packed dance floor. This way we got to keep on pogoing and still not lose our buzz. I know it's not super baller or anything, but there's something kinda impressive about folks just handing you drinks in the middle of a crazy dance floor. Of course he did it two at a time to avoid spillage, haha. I started him off with $40 that night and ended up giving him a C-note for the attentive service that night.

Take care of your crew and they will take care of you. All else fails they can get you a bunch of swag from that night. This is especially helpful on Party Rock Mondays where you can get the shades, glow sticks, flip flops (for ladies who's feet hurt), and other little toys and giveaways.

I feel bad that I didn't tip my busser directly when I got a bottle last week (only person I missed). I only saw him once when I first walked in and I never saw him again. It was just me and my girl so he didn't have to do much for us, but when I would turn around I did notice that my mixers were always full (my bottle was on a little table behind me). Then again after starting at GBDC, drinking all day, then taking the better part of a liter of Belvedere to the head, I could've played patty cake with my busser and not remembered.

My waitress did say that the bussers get a piece of that 20% gratuity, but I'm sure it's a small cut. Now when I go in May with 11 or 12 guys, the busser will be getting their cut straight off the top.

The bussers get a small percentage of the 20% called the wack. This is usually a few hundred dollars. It sounds great, but isn't really much considering the work they put in. They don't leave the club until 7-8 am. They have to leave the place spotless. They go hard for 10-12 hour shifts. Bussers rely on tips for most of their income. Think of these guys when you decide to over tip.
