  • Marquee, wasted my time.

So I'm only in Vegas for a few nights and I got tickets for LMFAO at Marquee so I didn't have to wait in line for so long.

I went straight to the front showed the guy my tickets and he says, stand in the hotel guest line. Which is what someone on here said also.

So we stand in that line for 30min which was outside the barriers, finally get between the barriers where we wait for an hour, as we get to the front of that line where they tell you to line up in the next line I ask another bouncer is this the right line for tickets. He says no sorry you should have came straight to the front so you only had to line up in the last line near the door. WTF I did show my tickets..

So he tells me to walk through and line up in the next line on the left for people with tickets where we should have started in the first place whilst the people that were inline behind me went to the last general admission line, we stood in that line for 30min whilst the general admission line on the right was going through and people behind me were already inside, meanwhile 12 people in this line got the shits and left aswell and they hadn't even been in the wrong line for 1.5hrs like us.

The least the bouncer could have done was take us straight to the front for waiting so long and being told wrong. So 2hrs wasted after I bought tickets and I wasn't going to wait any longer and we were well and truly sober so we said fuk this and called it a night.

Think ill be doing a charge back on my credit card because I didn't receive what I paid for, the dollar value doesn't bother me its the principal of paying for something and not getting what you paid for.

    /end rant

haha, sounds typical from what I have read.

I have a private corporate pre-party on April 16 with open bar from 10 to 11 at Marquee. It will be interesting to see how that goes since it is a vendor sponsored event. Hopefully will be okay since it is a Monday night.

      defyet,
Sounds like a pretty terrible experience. I've had two experiences, one good and one bad at Marquee. Both times I was on guestlist. First time was similar to the experience you described here, got in one line, bouncer told us to get into another line, then doorman told us we were in the wrong line, etc. Second time, I was again on guestlist, but I guess we got into the correct line, only waited about 20-30 min and got in.

Out of curiousity, what time did you arrive at Marquee and what was your ratio like?

Yikes! Sorry you had those issues.

I forwarded this to Marquee and they have reached out to their security management in an effort to remedy the problem going forward, and will be contacting you directly via email.

This seems very similar to what we had @ Marquee during last year's may invasion. We had the library room all to ourselves for an hour so hopefully that is what you guys will get too?

marquee was an absolute nightmare last night. busiest monday I've seen in a long time. i think the problem lies in the fact that they changed the 3rd floor entrance to the 4th floor through the boulevard pool and they were transitioning.

What floor do you line up on now for guestlist? Last time I went everything was on the third floor, though a promoter told me later there was a different guestlist line on a different floor (this was last year though).

Wait, so they had presale ticket people and hotel guests go through the Boulevard pool last Memorial Day Weekend, then went back to 3rd floor by STK for the last year, and now they are going back to up the escalator to Boulevard Pool ???

I was walking past there last weekend for Kaskade and the 3rd floor pre-sale ticket line past the pool table was as easy as ever. Did they just change it this past weekend ?

Marquee has a much bigger problem and that lies in the walk way around the dance floor. I stopped by there for an hour when Kaskade was spinning and I can't even describe it as jammed. It was almost scary because no one could move walking the outskirts of the dance floor and it was almost like being pinned up against a fence. They need to widen that sh1t soon and cut out the tables by the stage left upper wall as you go past the far left bar, and expand the walkway.

I've gone back to back nights where on Fri it was 3rd floor by the restaurants and Sat it was by the Boulevard Pool. I think it just depends on the night or expected traffic or something.

Probably best to text a host where to go instead of the door, bouncers or security. Lines there are a mess.

Ive never had a problem if I had pre-sales by going to that back entrance on the 3rd floor. Flows fast. Last week I knew a guy at the door on the 2nd floor and he sent me to the table line to enter, which took even longer than the 3rd flloor presale line. The best entrance is the escalator up the Boulevard pool. From there you just enter in the back side by hip hop room.

It's mind blowing why some clubs have to constantly tinker with a system that works.

The fact is clubs can do whatever they want. Tickets are so common it's like general admission. Plus theres so many people that are drunk and look bad, so things can get ruined for the people that should get in. On big nights like LDW Last year I was scared even though I had a solid res. with a strong host. Until you're in anything can happen. no guarantees in Vegas.

I went MDW, 4th and LDW last year and never waiting more than 5 minutes to get into Marquee. Never understood why people say the place gets crowded outside. Prepare correctly with either tickets or BS and everything works smoothly...

Thanks guys, here i was thinking i was going to get a bunch of replies saying suck it up..

The line up was on floor 3 i think near the shops.. Its a little hard to explain but they had a general admission line inside the barriers which went all the way around to the conference common type area, then on the outside of the barrier there was a line for hotel guest about 20 meters long (where we were told to go for people with tickets) at the end of this line there was a bouncer which was letting a few people inside the barrier at a time, this line was about 10metres long, at the end of that line the bouncer would then let you into another line that was about 5 metres long which also had a bouncer at the end of that to let you into the line that went to the lifts.

So i should have only been in that last line that was 5 metres long, even people that had tickets and did get put in the right line (the last 5 metre one) were giving up cause they were waiting so long, instead i had to wait through a series of lines for "Hotel Guest" which took around 2 hours just to get near the last line where i gave up.

I got there about 10.30PM and left about 12.30, if i gave it another 30min i probably could have gotten in but at that point i couldnt really care anymore i had enough of waiting in one line to join another line to join another to join another. Each time i got closer the line was getting slower.

Didnt really take much notice of the ratio, i was there with my girlfriend.

I know there's still the possibility of not getting in with tickets, and i could imagine its not easy to handle a crowd like that but a bit better management or even signage would be helpful.
