  • Help on bro's 21st bday & 1st time to Vegas

Im a Vegas vet. Vegas is my second home. Im in charge of the planning. So this shouldnt be a prob right? Well apparently it is. 3 chicks 2 dudes (myself included) coming down 6/28-7/3. Was supposed to get a 2bd penthouse at the Signature. Got an awesome deal for $260pp but got downgraded to 2 individual rooms at the Luxor(minus me, I booked at room at the Aria). For whatever reason, they believed that booking our own rooms would be cheaper and blah blah blah. Whatever. Fine. So then I start talking about tables, hosts and tips. The friends don't believe that's how it works. One of the girls said $25 tip is enough for a host. Are you fucking kidding me? It's an insult. I do hair so I know how appreciate and how far a good tip will take you. My bro is down for whatever, cost in moderation. Also came to find out, the friends only wanna go out maybe two nights max. Why go to Vegas then right? I think anyway.

That being said, wtf do I do with his cheapskate friends? I don't really have a choice but to tip the host on my own to try to get us in. The only way they agree to pay for a table is about $120-150max pp. all they wanna do is pregame hard. Thoughts anyone????

On another note, I need a line up from Thursday to Monday night, regardless if it's just me and my bro. I'm thinking Haze, Hyde, Tao & Marquee in that order? Anyone think I should double up on another night? Also, dare I ask, is there even a B1G1 BS anymore? And where?

you have a common problem. friends without or not willing to spend $$$. based on what you said already, they'll never make it 4 nights. and, its summer so theres the day too (which i think is more exciting). I think its better that you guys split up because they'll probably flake anyway. Also, mgm would probably try to put you guys in separate rooms anyway. in the west wing too. they always do that when you book special rooms. Just make plans with your bro and go for the 2 person party. quality over quantity. you'll have more fun and less drama.

With regards to friends that are unsure or unwilling to pay for tables, swallow the difference the first night yourself. On my trips with friends like yours, after one night with a table and bottles it sort of changes your thinking. Suddenly everyone chipping in 300 seems like a steal and well worth it to them. Least thats how it worked with myself and guys I went out there with. Girls could be different.

I have given that a thought although, I can honestly say it more than likely wont make a difference with this group. They're the kind of people that take and take and take. Most of the time my brother is the one covering their asses too when it comes to going out and eating er movies er whatever they do. Seriously, this particular set is def not my choice of people to bring.

id just take your brother out individually. seems like hes the only one that matters in this equation anyways. go out with his cheap friends and follow their lead. wait in line maybe guest list and just drink from the bar. try to spend minimal cash if possible and save your money for bottle service with your bro. overstate the predicted costs if you have too cause i dont want to hang with anybody thats says "can you guarantee it wont be over X amount?" no i cant cause if were having a good time and we get another bottle i expect you to chip in for it. leave the cheapskates at home. just kills my mood bro.

            My 2 cents...

            1. You mentioned the cheapskates want to pre-game hard. If they go too hard before getting to the club they will get denied entry. It's happened to a group I was with before, and it was a chick too. Our group didn't want to split up so none of us went in. Sucked...bad, put a stink on the rest of the night.

            2. If it were me, I'd ask my brother what he wants to do when it were just him and I talking. No matter who does what, it's most important that HE gets what he wants out of the trip. If he really doesn't care and just wants to spend time with his friends then so be it. If he wants to do bottles at a club, then make it happen and forget the friends. If they're not willing to help you make it happen for him then fuck 'em. This is his trip, and he gets to be selfish.

            3. I've read around and it sounds like there are a few places that have B1G1 deals on certain nights, or if you mention this site to the host. Good news is you have plenty of time to work it out.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.
