  • When should i contact a host ?

    Hey guys,

Myself and 8 of my friends will be in Vegas for 6 nights from the 23rd to the 29th of April.

Ive been reading thread after thread on this site and learning about the importance of hosts, tipping and all the rest of it.

While theres a lot of info, it is a little overwhelming as this is nothing like Sydney. We are used to walking into most clubs in Sydney without an issue and just having a great time. Most of my friends are pretty easy going aswell and just like to go with the flow instead of over planning.

It seems as though for atleast some of the nights we should make a plan and contact a host to ensure our spot at a club and at a table.

Speaking of tables im also a bit confused on this point. Can anyone provide some specific info or advice for tables for a large group of roughly 8 guys. It seems like it could be near impossibe without a really good hook up..

And if we do get a table what happens then? Im just confused cause ive never had this before, it doesnt happen in Sydney and the whole process is just confusing..

HOWEVER, the main question is.. When do i contact a host? When is too early, when is too late?

I've contacted a host weeks ahead of time, and I've done it the day of. I say talk it over with your group, decide what clubs you want to go to, what the entire group budget is, then go about hitting them up.

Not to add to the complexity of this task but I had a thought when reading this...please chime in Vegas Vets and especially hosts!

Girl-to-Guy ratio is obviously important when it comes to table location. That said, what if a group like this (8 guys) made a table reservation for 8 but with a 50/50 ratio and put the other 4 guys on the guest list.

This of course would mean that they would need to find 4 ladies to join them but that's not a wild gamble by any means.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Table location has very little to do with ratio. It's about the minimum spend and taking care of your host tip-wise.

Thanks Universal...they all asked me for ratio so I assumed it played a part. I booked a table for a group of six, did 1 bottle more than the minimum, and told the host up front what I plan to tip. That seemed to work nicely. I'm going 4/19 so I'll give an update as to how it turned out.
