  • Bachelor Party Planning / Suggestions

    Good day everyone

I have contacted a few "VIP" companies to get an idea of costs and what they can provide, and I am convinced I can do better myself. I am hoping to get a bit of advice and suggestions form the members here and get this bachelor party planned!

    - We are looking to go out on Thursday May 3rd. Is it too early to be booking anything?
    - Ideally we would like to start with a decent / not too expensive meal. I was thinking along the lines of 9 Fine Irishmen ( a place where we can have a few beers and a tasty meal without breaking the budget ). Any suggestions would be appreciated
    - After dinner, we want a limo to take us to Voodoo Lounge to start / toast the evening. (Would I need to contact the Club if we were going to be there around 9 - 10pm? Is that too early to worry about a line up? After an hour or so, take a limo to Sapphire Club. (Seeing as Sapphire is so big, is there any reason to contact the Club to get a table held for us?) And once done there, limo transportation to our final destination. (Any limo companies you can suggest?)
    - This group of 5 - 7 guys is not a "night club" type of group. We are more of a bar/pub group. Any suggestions on where to end up for some drinks and good atmosphere?

I appreciate any/all info you guys/girls can provide to help me out here. This is my brothers bachelor party and I want it to go well.

One last question as well. What are some activities to do while "killing time". We are doing the gun range the morning/afternoon of the 3rd. But on the 4th, after we wake up late, we need to kill time until we fly out at 11pm.

    Thanks

What are some activities to do while "killing time".
Your first time to Vegas I'm assuming? Because this is not a question that is applicable to Vegas...killing time

    - Limos: usually 1 or 2 outside of all major resorts, or ask valet guy to call one for you. $50-$60 one way.
    - Departure day at 11pm? Is like any other day, pool party that ends at 6pm, and you'll have enough time to semi-sober up for your flight.
    - Gun Range, SkyJump @ Stratosphere, Mob Museum, Red Rock Canyon, Rent Exotic Cars, Call some hookers, $1 beers on Freemont Street, try and conquer the 100oz Fat Tuesdays drink, etc etc etc and the list goes on and on!
    - Non-club-ish but still a good spot... I hear the All-Access pass to the Palms clubs sounds like it would be good for your group.
-Thursday nights; you can usually get good deals on bottles, etc at places, use the contact list on this site to contact hosts and ask about deals. I would contact host 2 weeks prior to the date.

You can find the answers to all of your questions spread throughout these discussion forums!

      Thanks T Dot,

I've been to Vegas 4 times, but never "out" at night or planning something like this We only have 1 Vegas virgin on the trip!

As for limos, does the $50-60 include tip? If not, is the avg tip $20? And how long on average is the wait time for a limo at a club or gentlemans club?

It depends. If there is a limo already sitting there just waiting around and you jump in for $60 to drive you 5 minutes down the road, I would think the driver tip is included in the $60.

If not, is the avg tip $20?
If you use the Valet or Bellhop to call you a limo, I would tip that person whatever is in your price range.. $10, $20, etc.

And how long on average is the wait time for a limo at a club
If it's not pre-booked, and the valet/bellhop is calling, I'd say up to 20 minutes.

        or gentlemans club?
I personally, do not do rippers in Vegas. Waste of time and pesos as they can't beat the rippers in Niagara Falls. That being said, if you call the rippers ahead of time, they will send a "free" limo to pick you up and bring you to the joint. I'd tip the driver $20-$50. As far as a limo ride to leave the rippers... probably the same principle as leaving the club as noted above.

If your group is not the night club kind. Try Ghostbar or XS and hang out at the outside bar area. It's kinda the best of both worlds.

Ok guys/gals. Tell me how I can beat the price of $60/person for 6 guys:

            - Limo pick up from restaurant & taken to Rio
            - Entrance & cover to Voodoo
            - Limo from Voodoo to Sapphires
            - Entrance & Cover into Sapphires
            - Limo to Casino/Ending spot for the night

If you know how I could go about getting this cheaper than $60/person on my own I'd appreciate your suggestions. Or even what we could do for $60/person that would be better.

            Thanks

$60 - Limo pick up from restaurant & taken to Rio
              ???? - Entrance & cover to Voodoo
$20 tip - Limo from Voodoo to Sapphires
FREE - Entrance & Cover into Sapphires
$60 - Limo to Casino/Ending spot for the night

So you're basically paying $220 to get 6 guys entrance and cover to Voodoo... Never been to Voodoo.. Maybe someone else can comment if it's worth $36/person for entrace and cover to Voodoo.

only thing you should be paying for on that list is the limo rides (aside from the limo to sapphires which is free - just tip)

Todd English PUB in Crystals at City Center. Pretty cool pub/bar with good food. Piano Bar at Harrahs or MGM in terms of just hitting a bar. Holsteins is a cool spot for a light meal. Burgers and pretty good beer list.

Yeah, Holstein's is a great option.

Not sure why you would go all the way to Voodoo, maybe wait in line, cover, etc just to stay there a little over an hour. Just to see the view????

And I thought if you have a larger group at a place like Sapphires and they wave cover and give you a limo ride, they put you in a VIP room with a bottle minimum? That's what happened to us last time (we told them we're not staying in that room so we just walked out of that area though). otherwise, whenever we did it we did usually pay cover/drinks.

Ok, after reading your answers, I have a few more questions:

                      - From what I've read/heard, I can grab a limo basically from any Hotel I am at, they are usually standing by, or the doorman can call one for me. What is the usual cost for one of these? I see you say $60/limo, but isn't there a tip on top of that as well? So closer to 70/80 per ride?
                      - I have read that I can call Sapphires directly and get a limo sent to pick us up and the cover will be waived as well, so that is a great option. Do you know how much time it usually takes for that limo to arrive? Just so I know when to call?
                      - I read above that the only thing I should be paying for is the Limo rides, and I agree, but how would 6 guys get out of paying cover charges at Voodoo or wherever we went after dinner? (I have heard Voodoo isn't what it once was, however there is some history as to why we are going there.)
                      - Thanks for the ideas for dinner, we were thinking Nine Fine Irishmen, but now I have a few other ideas as well.

Its negotiable so it depends on how busy they are and how well you can negotiate. I usually tip on top

I always go to the Rhino, and they usually grab me within 30mins. The driver always calls me and gives me an ETA

go by vodoo early and get a stamp or ask for some passes. shouldnt be hard to find passes at the Rio

if voodoo is your set spot that night, i think there is no cover before 10 (although you might wanna double check the time).. otherwise, like dnix said, there are people handing out passes for that place all the time

I contacted VIP services companies at first but they are all rip offs you can definitely do better by contacting a host yourself
