Figured I should throw an introduction out there before I start asking for connections / advice /etc for a trip I have planned April 26th - April 29th.
I'm in my late 30's and moved to So Cal from Michigan in 1997. Been going to Vegas quite a bit since then. But, I am kinda old now and haven't really kept up with the "scene" all that much.
This past Memorial Day we were in town and had a sick Cabana at Surrender on Saturday night. It was a bunch of married couples, but we still partied pretty hard. (I think it was a $4k minimum + tip, but I wasn't in charge).
I remember when Club Rio was the only night club option inside of a Casino (My buddy Rick met his wife there 14 years ago. I think he banged her in the bed next to me.) We also had Utopia and The Beach.
We were booking Sky Boxes at Rain before any other club offered something similar.
I have spent NYE on the Strip (1997) and in clubs (1999 and 2001).
I was there for the first Summer of Love at the Mandalay Events Center.
We would come out for the Pimp n Ho party every year.
I was at C2K when that girl OD'd.
From 2002-2004, I used to come out for business at least once a month and at least once a quarter for fun.
I have since been married for 8 years and have 3 kids. I still make it out to Vegas 1x a year with my buddies and 1x a year with my wife. But the hangover hurts a lot more than it used to. (2 days is hard work, and 3-days requires almost a week to recover).
My bachelor party was a 4-day bender at the Hard Rock in 2003. I don't think Rehab was even started then.
I lost my wedding ring at Rehab in 2004. That was a hard one to explain, but I am still married.
We were going to Drai's when it was the only place that played House music and hardly anybody knew about it.
One of my favorite things to do "back in the day" was to hit the Center Bar at Mandalay Bay and talk to all of the hookers at 5 in the morning. I have paid plenty of girls $10 just "to go away".
Anyway, I am coming in town at the end of April with my wife and 3 other couples. We want to hit it hard at least 1 night and I will be back here looking for recommendations/options.
We are staying at Encore from Thursday, April 26th thru Sunday, April 29th. (Some sort of promo deal where we get Thursday comped and Sat/Sun at $220 per night).
I'll be coming back here and looking around in the meantime.
(And BTW - I don't get the "dudes dancing with each other" thing either. If you are dancing and having a good time, okay, I get it. But a bunch of dudes in a circle showing each other their "moves" doesn't seem like it would help to pull chicks.
