  • Quick question on table service?

When they have the menu's and for example it says $450 for grey goose. Is that all you pay (besides the tip)?

Nope. Add 8.1% sales tax, and service (15%-22%, depending on the club, but most are 20%). And if its marquee, you also enjoy the privilege of paying another 10% live entertainment tax.

That's what will be on the bill. Then don't forget to tip your host. Customary to tip the runner and security too..

        tipping

You pay for the bottle price (450 min) plus tax and gratuity i would throw security anywhere from 20-100 bucks depending on if you want them to walk you to the bathroom thru the crowd or kick people from your table that try and walk in also if you have that one idiot drunk friend it helps them from getting kicked out. i would tip the busser 20-50. The cocktails usually tip out there busser at the end of the night but they keep there own side tips and the busser is normally the one that does all the work.

What do you mean by the "runner" and does the 20% service mean tipping the waitress?

Runner = busser = the guy who makes sure your table stays in order throughout the night.

Yes on the 20% to the waitress.

Runner = busser. The person who keeps you supplied with ice, glasses, mixers etc and cleans up any spills. Cash tip your host, runner and security. Waitress tip is taken care of in the service charge, which will be on your bill, no need to tip anything extra to the waitress.
