  • Question for the Vegas regulars

Looking for some info from the Vegas regulars on this one.

We have booked to go Vegas 3rd - 8th May. We booked this way before Mayweather booked the MGM so had no idea it was going to happen. As it happens we are also staying at MGM.

Does a fight night in vegas change what clubs/pools ask for a table/bed? I am guessing day beds/cabana/table minimums go up based on the volume of people coming into town. Would this be about right?

We have pretty much planned what we want to do I just hope our plans are not ruined because the usual minimums of 1 bottle for every 3 people changes. There are 10 of us so we have budgeted about USD 2500 a night for tables.

Its a great question, and without a doubt a High Profile Fight does juice up the cost at the clubs.

There's ways to get around it though.

A few weeks before the Fight Weekend, clubs will release their events. Some clubs will be, for example, the "Official Afterparty" for the fight. If you're looking to save cash, then avoid those clubs. Will they be fun? Yes. Will they be packed? Yes. Will it cost more for a table? Yes.

Keep an eye out a few weeks before your trip, and plan accordingly by contacting a few different locations and feeling out the offers.

      My post disappeared...hmm

All the clubs can work with your budget. Its only "possibly" gonna effect table location. If mayweather was fighting pac, then that would be different. Its just another fight/event in Vegas. Not a big deal.

I'll be there that weekend with my buddy (Haven't decided if I'm flying out Friday May 4 or Saturday May 5 til May 9). I know it's early but do you have any plans made yet for pools/clubs?

Hmm I actually think it will affect the bottle pricing pretty significantly if you go to a non-EDM venue, ie. RPM, LAX, Chateau, Crown. Friday and Saturday night.

I've found it doesn't matter really. I've gone to several fights and then clubs afterwards and they always seem like the same price in general (3 guys per bottle). Some places will up their minimums I guess and if you want a prime spot it'll be harder since celebs are in town and they get those tables.

The big thing is getting out of the fight and checked in relatively early as they usually wrap up around 9 or 930?

Thanks for all the replies. All really helpful and give me confidence we will not be priced out of the market for tables. At the end of the day this is a once in a lifetime trip for most of us so if the minimums do go up we will have to try our best to find the extra cash. I can only see it being a problem if a 2000 minimum becomes 3500/4000 for each ngts we are there but hopefully the fight will only impact the friday and saturday?

Its to early for us to book anything yet but will be looking to sort out tables for the following around 30 days before for 10 guys

              Thursday-tao 2000 min
              Friday-pure 2000 min
Saturday-wet republic daytime 3000 min. Mayweather fight then xs with 3000 min
              Sunday-vanity 1500/2000 min
Monday-maybe chilled before we fly home. Nice dinner and one last go in the casinos....or if we feel up to one last ngt of partying maybe xs again.

Perhaps Marquee Saturday and XS on Sunday?

Your budget is fine. Especially for the clubs youve chosen. You should have premium tables at Pure, Vanity, Tao and Wet. XS youll probably get inside.

Pure and Vanity you should nego a B1G1.

It won't affect pricing.. It will affect location for the amount of money you spend. You can still get great tables within your budget, but with a fight in town there may be other people willing to spend more than you for premium locations. Call up a host at the club you want to go to and book ahead of time.
