  • Porter Robinson - another Wynn residency

    http://www.dancingastronaut.com/2012...re-beach-club/

Looks like Porter Robinson is joining the likes of Tiesto, Deadmau5, and Steve Aoki at XS/Surrender. Based on his tour dates, I'm guessing he'll be in Europe during MayOD though.

And it seems like Steve Angello, Seb Ingrosso, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Diplo, A-Trak (except for some after party at Marquee next week), and Dada Life are also pretty much only playing there too, even if there haven't been official residency announcements. With Kaskade, Dirty South, Chuckie, Benny Benassi, Erick Morillo, Hardwell, Gareth Emery, and others at Marquee, it's like an EDM arms race.

I wonder where Avicii falls. Thought he was a Marquee guy but he's been missing from the 2012 schedule so far. I thought that was because of his own tour, but that hasn't stopped other DJs from doubling back to Vegas on a Friday or Saturday. This tweet (https://twitter.com/#!/XSlasvegas/st...86914308734976) makes me think that he might be a "free agent" this year, but we'll see soon enough I guess.

Porter is awesome - that's a big 'get' for the Wynn.

My guess is Avicii plays the field - but his most frequent haunt will be at Marquee.

Well at this point what would be the point of avicii joining the Wynn team exclusively? They already have an insane roster. Who gets the big nights? Last year he was a free agent and played wet, XS, tao, and marquee day/night. He could do this again or schedule with Tao group against the monster wynn line ups. Also, where's guetta fall into all of this?. I don't necessarily love all of his stuff but if marquee was to get a residency with him that would be a huge draw..

I "think" Guetta primarily plays Haze, but that's only a couple of times a year. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think he plays Vegas often. Pretty surprising.

Look for Avicii to make a big splash and have his main Residency be in Atlantic City at Angel Management Group's new nightclub at Revel.

That'll get some heads turned back toward the East Coast and AC in particular.

Guetta did play a string of Haze shows, but Fuck Me I'm Famous Sundays have been around at Wet Republic for at least two years. Not sure if it will return this year or not, but he also did FMIF at LAX a couple years back, but that was also before Haze opened.

Is Porter Robinson even able to get in to the club not being 21? This is really exciting news, I'd much rather see him than any other residency at XS (already saw Aoki).

Yes porter gets into the clubs, met him once when he was in aus. He said clubs just pretend they don't know. I would give anything to play along side him.

He is my favorite act, he's live mixes are flawless and I believe no one drops like him.

Porter Robinson easily on my Top 5 list. Saw his set multiple times and every single time dude just kills it. He owns the decks. Really happy that he got the Wynn residency.

And yes under 21 DJs can get into clubs, house duo Martinez Brothers (they are also under 21) were spinning at Marquee dayclub during the last Mayod, and we were right behind the DJ booth, when they came on Security told us to make sure we are not right by the stage with alcohol when they on, like an hour later they were drinking beers and shit lol

I dunno about him to be honestly. Nothing is original about him, he doesnt produce anything, only thing he does mixing pretty much other major djs major works and act like a clown with his stupid mask on the stage.

I'm not a fan of the mask either, but some of his mixes are pretty F'n sick.

I dont really like this kid....all his mixes and live gigs are predetermind and shows no talent. He uses the laptop for his cues and beat matching (if any) rather than his ears. Only thing he has going for him is his "party" show on stage but it impacts his DJing. Props to him though for making it big.

Damn, that's sick. I can't believe that Revel will finally open in May. Looks like Borgata is going to have some serious competition now.

Wow this is random. He doesnt even seem worthy of playing XS or having a residency there. I guess we will have to wait and see how things go..
