  • Bachelor Party March 29th - April 2nd 2012

    Hi

Looking for some advice and top tips for my mates stag party later this year (10 weeks today to be exact!).

There are 10 males ranging in age from 23-59, the majority of lads being in their late 20's.

    1) As seems about normal, getting everyone to agree to where to go and what to do is often a nightmare. Do people think I'd (as best man and organizer) be better off just letting people do what they want and do Vegas on the fly (everyone barring me and another lad) are Vegas virgins? I've only been once before.

    2) The clubs that take our fancy are Moon/Playboy Club, TAO, LAX (staying in the Luxor) and XS. Are there any other clubs that are either better or "must do's".

    3) Bottle Service - For 10 lads would this even be acceptable or would we be pissing in the wind so to speak? Would we maybe better splitting the group into a 5 & 5 or 4 & 6?

    4) The obligatory strip club! Any recommendations as to the least pushy joints. Most of the group don't like the "in your face" attitude associated with some clubs. I for one found Little Dancers, on my last visit 2011, to be quite an aggressive place with the girls clearly only interested in your $ and trying to ensure you wasn't spending it on another girl (there was even a point where 2 girls was close to trading blows before management split them up). Would a group of 10 be able to get any discounts, additional extras (bottles etc...) for a reasonable fee?

    5) Can anybody tell me the names and locations of good places to start evenings off? Last year on a football tour (18 blokes), we often started in the Piano Bar in New York New York. Although this was okay, after a couple of nights it became quite tedious but trying to organize 18 lads and find somewhere to accept us all that was half decent was something of an effort and so the Piano Bar @ NYNY became our starting point, virtually every night!

Sorry for the bulbous post. Your help is much appreciated.

For a bachelor party, I suggest letting everyone do their own thing, except for one blowout night. Plan that night at a major club with bottle service. I still make plans for the bachelor, and every is welcome to join, but its optional. Not everyone has the same budget, so I always find it best to only make 1 night mandatory.

I working on the same for May (14 guys), and my advice is to plan a few things that are mandatory but otherwise let everybody do what they want. I'm planning a mandatory dinner and club night (STK and Marquee) and a strip club night(Rhino or Sapphire).

I'll plan a lot of optional stuff that people can take or leave, so if people want to go gamble or party it's up to them.

We're doing bottle service for all clubbing because the odds of getting even a small group of 4 or 5 guys in without waiting for over an hour seems slim. Good luck!

        Thanks guys.

Think I'll probably go along with that. Do you think it'll be worth trying to get BS for 10 guys or split our group down and try and get 2 separate BS going?

Some tips I learned doing a 20 person:

            1. Book a limo from the airport to your hotel. Stop at liquor store on the way and stock up. Make a road cocktail before you depart your hotel every single time.

            2. I split my group up for bottle service, but picked a non-Tier1 club so that the people who dont want to spend the money could try general admin/wristbands (e.g., Palms clubs on fri/sat are great for this). I did groups of 6 and we ended up with two tables and then rest of the people came in on their own later and just partied on the dance floor. With 10 I'm not sure if splitting is a great plan.

            3. Ask the host you do your two table booking with to help you with a strip club, preferably Rhino or Sapphire. I think most of them can help you get a table there, or at least get your cover waived. I really dont recommend going to any other strip clubs except those two -- and I prefer Rhino, but that's just my taste. It seems like more of a party and less of a cloudy room of dudes all staring at the same chick.

            4. Make sure your bachelor is with YOU and willing to play by your agenda; your crew will, for the most part, follow you if he's with you. He's a magnet. If he's not on board and is bouncing around trying to hang with everyone, it'll become chaotic and you guys will just argue about shit to do and not maximize your fun. If you guys do decide to do something some of your crew isnt into, they can duck out and do their own thing.

            5. Plan a group man meal, but agree ahead of time that one person will pay the bill and everyone will PayPal that person after the weekend. Make sure everyone who comes knows your splitting evenly, not to be a douche and order a round of shots or a $500 bottle of wine, and if they aren't into that they can meet you at the bar after dinner. Nobody will take them not wanting a nice meal personally.

            6. Save your mega club night for the tail end of the trip; if you blow it the first night, you run the risk your bachelor is annihilated and that can hurt your subsequent nights. This depends on the bachelor, though, but keep it in mind.

            7. Day Gamble as a group at the shitty casinos on the strip, like Bills or O'Sheas. You guys can run the place, pound some beers, and socialize together for $5 hands. It's the best quality time you'll get outside of the man meal. Plus, O'Sheas has Beer Pong. It's a dump, but fun during the day when you're looking to hang.

            8. Ghost Bar Day Club, if it is still going on.

            9. I had good luck booking limos to get the group around town from the hotel, but I know this is a crapshoot. See if you can arrange for your dinner and/or club night to have a set time with someone to pick you up -- there is nothing worse than waiting for your big group to all get in 4 person cabs.

            10. Make your one friend who wins big (with 10 people, someone will) spread the wealth for the mutual good time of your crew.

I'm actually helping put together a bachelor party for between 15-17 guys for the first weekend in March. I've been before when we had our "do whatever you want" nights and that blows. If you're going to Vegas, do it right. For this upcoming trip, we have VIP bottle service every night. We're either paying in advance, or at least getting reservations through the club's host. If you collect payments from your crew over a 2-3 month period like we're doing, 3 VIP's in 3 nights is definitely economically doable. Here's our itinerary:

                  Thursday - Tao @ Venetian
Friday Strip Club - Spearmint Rhino...went last time & had a blast. Heard Sapphire was good but never been.
                  Friday - Haze @ Aria
Saturday Daytime - Ghostbar Day Club @ Palms (never been but heard great things).
Saturday Night - Still deciding b/t 1oak or The Bank (XS if $$$ is right).

                  Its Vegas...do it big.

Thats mega. Thanks a lot man!!! Will bear all this in mind. Speaking with the bachelor tonight and will hopefully plan out a lot of the finer details tonight.

                    Thanks again.
