  • Vegas alone?

So, I've won a trip to Vegas with all expenses paid from my employer for being in the top 5% of sales reps in the company.

Great right? Of course...Well, the majority of the other sales reps are 40+, I'm 26... and I'm not into anything they are. Most are actually thinking of opting to take the cash instead, but for me the $500 isn't worth passing up an all expenses paid trip.

How can I tackle Vegas by myself? lol. My 2 friends already have money tied into our trip in March, so they can't swing 2 trips in 2 months.

Anybody that's done Vegas alone want to chime in?

500 is not shit to a all expenses paid trip. What does it include? Air, hotel, food, tourist crap?

Even if all you do is sit in your hotel like a lazy ass and let maids clean up after you its worth the trip to vegas.

Congrats on the free trip! I'd suggest posting your trip dates in the Vegas "Get Connected" section. You might be able to meetup with some other forum members who will be in town at the same time.

Otherwise, make the best of it. Meet some people and have a great time.

i've done prob 4 or 5 solo trips to vegas.

None of them have been as good as when I went with friends (makes sense), but I always had fun. In fact, one of my fav vegas experiences came when I was solo.

          Here are my tips:
          1) No matter what the weather spend a couple hours each day at the pool drinking. (Winter: Hot tub) IMO, it's the easiest way to meet people ever.

          2) Bar crawl during the day/afternoon. Every hotel/casino has between 3 and a dozen bars open, many 24/7. Visit one.. move on if it doesn't have people to talk to.

          3) Go off the strip to a locals joint. When I was solo i used to go to the Griffen near fremont st. Meet some locals or industry people.

          4) Go to osheys and join a beer pong game.

          5) I'm not really into going to a club by myself, but if that's your thing, go to a club. Pretty easy for a well dressed guy with a little grease on his hands to skip a line.

          6) If all else fails, close out the night with a strip club. Nothing like buying a fake friend with fake titties to make ya feel good.

I've done it both ways, several times.

There are good & bad things about both.

Plan a loose schedule for yourself for each day. (Get up, do this. Then do that. After, do that, Eat this. Go to x place that night, etc). Don't have to stick to it, but it sure is easy to waste time in vegas if you have no plan at all. Have a short list of a few things you want to do and figure out when the best time to do them are... then, if you get there you can still say fuck it and do something else... but you won't be standing around with your dick in your hand trying to figure out what to do next.

Solo trips have always been good to me. Will actually be doing one in Sept. Get out meet new people and do things on your schedule.

All good tips right here. But to add to the nightlife, picking up girls solo is a strategy. It's easiest the get the third wheel if you're solo. Just work the group right. Or, find another solo or small group that you can play wingman with. It's easy to do...

But if you don't anything else, remember this, "Keep drinking, liquid courage does wonders!"
I still remain "the best kept secret"

If you can choose the dates, go 5/16-5/21. Then you wont be alone. Youll have 400+ of us to party with.

Thanks, I was definitely taking the trip to Vegas regardless..Just wanted to see how it's been for others who chose to go it alone.

                          Solo

I make the trip often solo now that I live in CAli and all my boys are on east coast. Going solo has advantages for getting into the top clubs, as mentioned above dress well and take care of the guy with the guest list. I usually hit tables for a bit and then hang at the longe type bars. Last time I was there met some local girls and went to bar off strip (nothing like leaving bar when it is light out). It's impossible not to meet people so have fun and if u strike out go to Rhino.

Going to Vegas alone has never been done and I highly discourage people from attempting it.

You may arrive and leave alone...but you are never alone while you are there...tons of people everytime I have gone...The party is in your head and should be projected outwardly--in a good way, of course...Never had a problem meeting cool to party with.
