To rent a car or not?

We will be staying at the Cosmo for 5 days and I know we have to go to the palms at least 2 days and the wife wants to check out Freemont and the rio as well so Im wondering if I should just rent a car for 2 maybe 3 of the days we are there. How much does taxi fare usually run from Cosmo to the palms or rio?

Id say average Taxi ride is $10. Id personally never rent a car, because theres no need to drink and drive when you can take a taxi everywhere.

Downtown will cost you $20 for a taxi.

I never rent a car in vegas. I drink day and night so its just not worth it. Just catch a taxi. Don't worry, you won't go bankrupt over a few taxi rides.

Took my car to Vegas last time I went because I thought it would be handy.

It was handy on the day I arrived, driving around Vegas, and picking my friend up at the airport. Other than that, it just sat in front of the casino the other three days and made them look good.

At least it was cheaper than flying...but to echo what everyone else has said, if you're going to be boozing don't rent a car. A DWI costs a shitload more than a couple taxi rides.

I try to get a car... but then again I have family in town and I try to hit up all of my favorite off strip eats..
