  • RPM nightclub under/over 3 months

I have only seen pics but this place, I here is doing horrendous. Place looks so empty. I mean plenty of second tier nightclubs last a while, and i'm sure its not management, or service. You could argue location but places like Gallery (PH) and LAX (Luxor) still always seem to have a decent crowd. What is this places deal. They seem to be bringing in decent DJ talent and recruit some celebrity appearance drive. Still can not put my finger on the problems with Tropicana spots. I felt Nikki Beach could have worked very good concept, and it failed. Seems like RPM might be failing too.

Under/Over 3 Months till closing time.

    Let the debates begin.

I attended their industry party this past Wednesday & had a good looking crowd & a hot waitstaff. They have several great hosts so even in the Tropicana they'll do well. Personally I think a5 group got a little impatient.

It's the location. The tropicana did a nice remodel but it's still the tropicana and everyone wants to go to Wynn, encore, Cosmo, Venetian, bellagio, etc. All of the other clubs are in more popular hotels and have better location.

        Rpm

Well you cant really knock it til you have been there. Which i assuming based on viewing pics you havent. Its actually doing pretty well and mind you while we do have things working against us. Location, previous bust of nikki beach, and 55 other nightclubs here in vegas to compete with i think we are going to do just fine. We are still working out a few kinks and with the Dj's we will be bringing in it doesnt matter which hotel we are at the place will be selling out. If i didnt believe this place will be successful i wouldnt be still working there. I give it a month before everyone will talking about Rpm starting superbowl weekend when we have bad boy bill spinning. All i ask for is the continued support that jc members and jack colton himself have shown me since the nikki beach days.

        Much appreciated

OK, I have honestly only been to RPM once, and only went to Nikki Beach once as well, and the new "version" won't last. I say "version" because it is almost exactly the same. The logo, and video wall surrounding the dance-floor DJ booth are the only noticeable changes.

I will admit, they had some insanely sexy go-go dancers, but it was all ruined by the silly little "impersonation performances" they do. Seriously, they have Michael Jackson, LMFAO and Katy Perry (ones I saw) impersonators that do these cheesy-ass shows throughout the night.

Can't knock them for trying, and they have some good Vegas industry personnel on the roster, but I just don't see it lasting in any way. They won't even be able to support their booking schedule very-very soon, with the crowd i've heard is going there.

                  Nightclubs

not every nightclub is for everyone. People are going to go to the venue for the host, cocktail, bartender or Dj/act they particularly like. For instance i hate chateau i think the set up inside is retarded yet i still go because the director is a good friend of my the hosts are good people and i love the cocktails there and they take good care of me. Lavo is tiny but a great time. Use to like the Bank Nightclub now cant stand it because of how they treat people. Tao i cant stand unless i have or clients have a table because your packed like a sardine. The point is not every venue is for everyone. Some people will like RPM some people wont. But if you dont like it check it out for yourself dont just not like it because you saw pics or heard it was bad or heard it was just like Club Nikki.

Yes of course RPM Nightclub is going to look similar to club nikki they did remodeling for 3 weeks so unless you knock it down and start completly over its going to look the same. While i do agree with some of the things said we need to change they are trying new things and we are seeing in the first couple weeks what works and what doesnt. All i can say is try it for yourself and come february its going to be a whole different ball game with the DJ's and talent we are going after. And trust me wether you like the Tropicana or you heard RPM sucks your going to want to check it out with the lineups we will have..

That is all sorry had to get that off my chest

                    and ps..

i think the set up of our club is great stadium seating and not one bad table in the house. And when we have talent everyone wants to see you will be able to book a table and see it and not get stuck in a side room or lounge while everyone in the main room is partying like crazy.

I went to Nikki last year because a friend worked there. It was dead that night so they closed early. It's real nice inside and I bet the upgrades are nice too. Getting solid talent booked could definately help this place.

I think this place could do well as a hip hop club. Think about it, the clubs at Wynn and encore have secured most of the best DJ's. Marquee too. But remember opm and poetry? What about crown? All busy places with a solid following. I think edm is the best but there are some diehard hiphop fans and rpm could own that market on the strip.

                          whoop whoop

Of course greek let me know what you need and Redbull there was discussions about it but i and a few higher ranking members decided against the hip hop crowd. while we will do acts that cater to that EDM is where it is at. And the thing that alot of people dont realize is the owner is very much open to opening his "horizon" Expect big things from us come feb/march

And anyone who wants to check it out for themselves ill be glad to invite you in a night and show you around

Simple , cut out the competition with drastic discount prices on bottle service.

"If you build it they will come"

Maybe a special priced bachelorette bottle service package. Place will be packed in no time.

                              My thoughts are....

                              - RPM has a pretty solid lineup of hosts and customer development managers, which give the club a much better chance than Nikki had. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy their soft opening in December was, especially with so much last minute support from the industry.

                              - RPM is still at the Tropicana, which is going to be an uphill battle for the nightlife and daylife that they are going after.

                              - RPM isn't noticeably different from Club Nikki, which means all of the negative press and reputation following Club Nikki's short lifespan are still directly attached the club (example: the fact that this conversation is happening).

                              - The 90 and 180 day milestones of the club are the only real way to know. If it is still fairly busy at 3 months, that is a huge step.

                              - I think RPM's longterm success will ultimately depend on the venue not trying to compete for the same crowd that everyone else is competing for. Find an underserved demographic that is still in line with the hotel's goals, and be the best at catering to them.
