What's Buzz on 1Oak and Hyde?

I'm gonna be rolling into town with my gf this Sat and Sunday, and was thinking of checking out hyde or 1Oak Sat - but since they're so new, I'm having trouble finding info, or even photos online.

If my default option was Lavo - how do the two new spots stack up?

Are they Tier 1 like Tryst where i can always do 1 blt min, or Tier 1 like XS where 1btl on sat isn't gonna happen?

lol... out of respect I will not comment.. they both have potential.. but.. Hyde will not put money into anything with marketing or promotions.. this can hurt..

1 OAK... potential is there.. but will it go back to being JET (names can change.. but reputation is different)

I wish them both luck.. They have the ability to be the best in vegas...

i was expecting the grand opening of hyde to be like the one at the cosmo last new years, NOT. I think there was only like 4 celebs that showed up, C-Listers at best: sophia vergara, joe jonas, wilmer valderama, and lauren conrad. uhhh what??? what happened to the rumor of diddy and timberlake buying up 28 of the 30 tables? oh well, i guess the true test of this new venue will be when it opens its doors to the general public.

I did bottle service at Hyde on Jan 1st and here are my thoughts (keeping in mind I'm married and don't really care much for music).

Douchebaggery was overall down. This was partially due to the bouncers seemingly a lot friendly, waitstaff more welcoming and a MUCH higher girl to guy ratio than I've ever seen; maybe as high as 70/30 in favor of girls.

The crowd was also more attractive than usual, probably due to heavy promotion so I doubt it keeps that way.


Here's what I really liked:
- Because the club has a small portion of it outside and tables off to the side it was a little easier to talk than in a typical vegas nightclub. This is a big plus.
- Club looked very pretty
- Staff were great. This night being my *fourth* bottle service night in a row I recognized a distinct difference in the attitude of our waitress. It's nice to see someone actually earn their auto-gratiuty.


What I didn't like:
- Dancefloor got so rammed you could not walk through it and it was sometimes hard to walk around it.
- If you didn't have a table my feeling is you would be in a lot of trouble since there wasn't much else room to go. We were near the outside in the back and I loved our location, but if you had a dance floor table you probably regretted it as there didn't seem to be much room to move.
- Music on the dance floor was too loud. I know I seem really old when I say this (I'm 29), but I had to plug my ears because it just got so loud; thankfully it was quieter by the table.

I would probably go back here next time if I'm staying in Bellagio. I heard they had food too but I didn't get a chance to see a menu.

I did bottle service at Bank twice last week (Dec 30 and 31st) and then at Hyde on the 1st. Hyde was better.

Staff were much nicer and friendlier at Hyde. At the Bank the bouncers outside scream at you if you're not orderly and everyone seems to think they are doing you a huge favor by letting you inside. Girls were less attractive at the Bank and the ones that were hot were working girls.

Otherwise a nightclub is a nightclub, so there's never going to be huge differences but I will probably go back to Hyde before I go back to Bank.

But isnt Hyde a lounge? It wouldnt be the same thign then......
