  • NYE...do they really lock the hotels down??

Ive read on other fourms that on NYE they basicly shut down the strip and you cant really just walk into any hotel. Some wont let you without a key etc. What is the truth behind this and how early should you line up for a club?

All the major casino/resorts used to lock it down to where only hotel guests were allowed on the property unless someone had a table reservation (obviously) but the last couple of years they were open to the public. Has anyone heard of anything different?

Basically, any good hotel will be locking down starting roughly 8. Wynn/Encore and Bellagio both do. I don't think Cosmo did, but maybe Marquee's opening night had something to do with it?

But regardless of whether or not they lock down or not, the Strip is complete madness and anarchy. You should not be wandering around past sundown. It's a pain in the ass to even walk one hotel over after, say, 8 or 9 o'clock at night. Just pick out your hotel where you'll be partying at for the night and stay there. Reserve a table at a nice restaurant beforehand and you're good to go!
