A proper shot is 1.5 ounces, most bartenders pour in the glass as they're pouring the jigger into the drink which IS over-pouring, technically.

I tested out the theory last night. I had some Ciroc and sprite. lol. Did the 1.5oz and mixed with a usual amount of sprite and Ice. 2 glasses didnt do anything. haha. So I would say that bar drinks may tend to be a bit over the 1.5oz and are a little stronger than I thought. I'm sure it can vary though. But its easy to overpour than underpour.
