Mistakes First Timers make

LOL. ya nothing wrong with budget. I think its all about just being on the same page. The group knows theyre going to a club or strip club, etc, so there is an expected amount of money thats going to be spent.

If everyone understands most arent down to spend the bucks, the other half has to understand to keep it within the rest of the peoples budgets. I usually end up being the guy that covers the small difference when we go out to eat, but I'm not down to cover drinks and entrance fees to homies. People have to cover for themselves for that much shit. LOL

1. Don't over dress. Especially if you have bottle service. I was in a group at Marquee recently and wore shirt, tie and dress shoes. Felt well out of place, people are there to have fun and relax. Next few nights went out with smart sneakers, tshirt and jacket combo, much more relaxed and no problem getting in. Approach the door with confidence.

This is why these forums are great. Everyone has an opinion and some people disagree with said opinions. I for one disagree with the over dress part.

You should not feel out of place at all in any of the clubs based on your dress unless it is on the sloppy side. More importantly don't let how you dress compared to others dictate how you feel. Other than going to say a funeral, have you ever not felt like more of a baller when wearing a shirt/tie? Even if you have to wear one for work?

Case in point in my trip to Cathouse I wore a tie. Girl thought it was too "dressed up" and she decided to take my tie off, damn near rip 3 buttons off my shirt and then proceeded to wear my tie. The tie went back and for between the two of us on the dance floor, at times it was a leash, other times handcuffs and other times it was covering parts that were a lot more exposed. Would this have happened without a tie? Nope.

Remember, what you wear can be used as a prop for later. Just saying.

I have been now 14 times going back to 2002. I am a grizzled vet. I guess my words of wisdom would be its very key the group that you go with. Also, no regrets. If u have your heart set on say XS and the group or whoever isn't going.....go to XS. Recruit someone from the group to go with u or go alone. Nothing worse than leaving and thinking what might have been or wanting another a decision back. Be very selfish there thast why u are there.

Also, try to keep some sort of wits about u. Believe me i have had it where u think damn if only i wasn't too f*cked up i wouldnt gone that route etc.

Also, pre-stock the battle field. In my curb side check'in bag i have tons of gatorades,vitamins,vodka,protein bars. u dont wanna be running around for that stuff and its also way cheaper. i make bombs in my gatorades with vodka and walk around. saves a ton of dough. And u can neevr have enough $. what u think u wil spend.....bring 1.5-2 times more at least.

I only started going to Vegas in 2009, and been about 6 times since then and thanks to this forum have become the go to guy with my friends on how to plan a vegas trip. Here's what I learned as a newb:

1) Don't be afraid of approaching bouncers or hosts at a club to help you out. If you're on a guestlist for one of their hosts, they will help you out however you need.

2) Never pay cover to get into a strip club. Call their limo service, and before you do that, also during the day talk to a taxi driver and get free drink tickets from them for whatever strip club you're going (if available). If you're going to blow money at a strip club, blow it on the strippers.

3) Confidence, politeness and a smile will get you service above and beyond what most people get. Treat service providers with respect (and tip properly) and you'll get way more value than your $s.

4) The people around you are who make the night and a lot of people in Vegas are open to having a good time so don't be afraid to approach anyone.

5) Dress however you want within reason. If you want to suit up, no ones going to look down on you for it, if you want to dress down but still smart, no one is going to look down on you for it too.

6) Use the resources of this site whether you're on a small or big budget, your money will go really far.

I cannot stress how important I think #3 is! I think this might actually be the best tip yet. Don't be a douche cause you're in Vegas and you think you're cool. If people are taking care of you, take care of them.

I play roulette - a lot, and cannot get over how obnoxious some people are just because they're in Vegas and feel cool. Most recently two such guys at my roulette table stroll up screaming about how they know Flavor Flav (seriously, I couldn't make this shit up!). They place a few big bets and hit over $500 a few times, $1000 once and $2000 once, but NEVER ONCE tipped the dealer. Not that this would directly effect their trip, but if they're not gonna tip the guy who just won them well over $3000 in the span of like 20-30 min I can't imagine who else they aren't tipping.

For people who don't gamble regularly I can understand this. Just like if I was a bartender in NYC and got no tip from guys from Australia I would understand as well - they simply don't know better, and it's very rude for the dealers to mention it.

It's usually up to fellow customers to very casually mention it or do it themselves so the 'newbies' can observe, otherwise they'll never know.

Very true. Most of the time you can tell when someone is new to gambling or not. From they way they were playing, I'd feel comfortable saying that it wasn't their first time gambling. Oftentimes even people new to gambling often catch on after a while of just seeing other people to hit tip the dealer.

eta: I would say one of the guys might have been newer to it, but the guy who was really hitting big knew what he was doing. They were friendly guys, but very arrogant.
