    1. Don't over dress. Especially if you have bottle service. I was in a group at Marquee recently and wore shirt, tie and dress shoes. Felt well out of place, people are there to have fun and relax. Next few nights went out with smart sneakers, tshirt and jacket combo, much more relaxed and no problem getting in. Approach the door with confidence.

    2. Pai Gow. Best game to play for free drinks. Avoid slots unless you want a drink every hour. VP at the bar also a great shout, play a couple of hands on max credits then play slow when the bar tender isnt looking.

    thats all for now!

      3. International visitors. Arrange for your phone to work overseas. This was my problem on my last trip and missed out on getting in touch with a few hosts and ended up getting some pretty poor BS deals. Viber is a good app if you have free wifi and you can phone back home.

        4. I'm doing a bit of a U-turn but try to stay in as nice property as possible. You might only be spending a few hours there but those precious few hours of downtime are needed to keep going. 1 night at Hooters was enough for me last time.

        Trip report in progress!

Alot of great advice in this thread that I agree with.

This above I dont agree with though. LOL. I wouldnt be able to go back to back weekends or 3 weekends in a month if I did that. haha. Some of those multiple weekend or many days in a month all are int he same CC bill so that shit catches up on you. haha.
Lol, I probably should've been more specific. I'm not saying you should get a $5,000 dance floor table at Marquee to impress that group of girls you met or make it rain like PAC Man Jones at the Spearmint Rhino.

What I meant is you don't come to Vegas & cry about prices of drinks, food, etc... I have friends that bitch about paying $20 covers at nightclubs nowhere as popular at Tier 1's in Vegas & I just shake my head at them. There's really no point in going to Vegas if you plan on penny pinching the entire trip.

            agree

There are better places to take budget trips. Don't spend like an idiot, but don't let $100 get in the way of you doing what you want, either. never, ever bring On-A-Budget-Dude on a trip when no one else in the group is, unless you have decided to cover him. There is no worse drag. Even Falling-Down-Drunk-Girl is more fun than On-A-Budget-Guy if no one is covering him!

also - making it rain is tacky as hell. Just give her the money.

This is a great thread for a Vegas virgin for myself.

By reading JC, I have pretty much got over the fact that I'm gonna pay $400+ for a bottle that cost £20. But f@%k it it's Vegas.

I'm also not overly keen on the dress code situation but I'll get over it as I will the music but the experience will make up for it I'm sure.

Just can't wait till June now.

A myth people delude themselves with when they don't feel like dressing up with proper shoes
Never offer an open bar to a Wisconsinite... =)

Agreed 100% on leaving the cheap friends at home. Nothing kills the party like someone bitching the entire night about how expensive a Bud Light is. It's Vegas. You have to pay to play.

I wore black boot style sneakers but my friend had tanned leather high tops, all the door staff were asking for the web site he got them from.

in the uk dress codes have been strict over the years so we had the shoes, pants,.shirt ready but it wasn't really needed. Style and confidence is all you need, if you are lacking in that, stick to the dress shoes etc
