I've read the tipping thread but would like to get a little more specific info. I'm not interested in a table or bottle service for new years eve at XS I'm just interested in getting in. After contacting a host and meeting there what would be the appropriate amount to give the host to get us in (roughly 3 guys 2 girls) would $250 be sufficient?

greasing your way in to XS on new years eve? I don't even think I can put a number on that.

Most of the time its recommended to get there around or before 11pm with presales/wantickets and I haven't heard anyone ever having problems at that hour. NYE I would guess 10pm or something outrageous.

Also, doesn't the cost of admission/greasing drop dramatically on NYE at 1 or 2am or something. If Kaskade really is going to noon...

mehh. as long you dont get to a venue past midnight (not counting NYE) I don't see what the problem would be.

Right, as Darryll said, it's a club, not a concert. Tickets do promise something but it's not a guaranteed "seat." You're still subject to capacity concerns and the like, plus some tickets do have a time limit on them.

Best bet is a good host relationship, but for something like NYE when you don't have an existing host relationship, tickets (and arriving early) aren't a bad idea.

Now just have to figure out how to see Steve Angello at XS or Kaskade at Marquee on New Years Eve. That might not be an easy task to get in :/

not sure if this is true but over the weekend I heard Kaskade is gonna spin from 12am to noon New Years Day...lol I hope he likes Red Bull

Yup thanks mike. Was actually my first time in surrender looks small from the outside but I was wrong, also the layout inside was awesome! I can only imagine what it's like during the summer. Really enjoyed the vibe I think it's turned into my top 3 choices to go to.

Kaskade has 3 gigs in like a 24 hour span in 3 different states! TWO NYE parties one in LA 8pm... then he flies out to Vegas for the NYE count down!! serious dj status there! crazy...
