Is vegas dead the weekend after NYE?

Thinking of taking a quickie solo trip........Flights are cheapest next two weeks in Dec and the week after new years.

When would be busier, anyone know?

It won't be dead per se...just a lot quieter. This can be a great time to party if you don't mind hunting around a bit.

Alot of people actually go the weekend after new years, I did a couple years ago, it was great because it wasn't packed madness, a little windy and cold but that's ok

Agreed, a weekend that most people forget about is MLK. With the Monday off, it makes for an enticing time to stop in Vegas

i think it was a couple years back my buddies dragged me out to the weakest NYE party ever here in LA. It was a fri nite. When I got home in the middle of the night I immediately booked a room in vegas for the next nite and sun to redeem myself. rates were surprisingly cheap so I had to pull the trigger. went out to the grand opening of vanity at the hard rock hoested by diddy and had the time of my life!

The weekend after NYE, in the past, has been big convention week/ends: CES and AVN. This coming year, the conventions are going to be on different weekends with CES running Jan 10-13th, I believe, and AVN running the following week. Having been in Vegas the past two years during this week, I can personally say that some places will be packed and others not. I went to Surrender on a Saturday and it was not as crowded as I've seen before. Then again, there were no headliners that night. I'll be out in Vegas for our annual trip Jan 7-10th. Looking forward to checking out the new clubs!

Nightclubs won't be as busy but it'll still be money! CES begins 1/10 (expecting 140,000) and the busiest conventions of the year continue through May.

Agreed, a weekend that most people forget about is MLK. With the Monday off, it makes for an enticing time to stop in Vegas

One of the best Vegas trips I've ever had was on MLK weekend.
