Id tend to think most industry peeps have a contact. Doubt they just walk up the door. Most industry nights locals are free anyway. The real benefit to being an industry professional is comped tables, which you would need a contact for.

If your in the industry you know at least 1 person at every venue, or your not that good or just got started. A business card doesnt make you industry, but its a start. A health card, tam card, sheriffs card, nevada id or military id are all valid ways to back up that you live here. Those will get you in, but you will still need a host to get a comp bottle or 2
