High pressure from hosts?

What's everyone's reaction to "high pressure sales" tactics from hosts? In my dealings, I ran into one that flat out told me I would have a crappy time at all the other clubs compared to his club. Even when I said that I could get nearly twice as much for half the price he said that I would get what I pay for.

There were so many attempts at closing or making me feel bad about not closing it wasn't funny. Needless to say I am likely not going to go to that club. Just the fact that he scoffed at me when I tried to negotiate a better deal was laughable.

Anyone else had any experiences with a host that were not so stellar.

BTW, this host will not be mentioned due to the fact that it came as a recommendation from a friend of mine and this host is not (as far as I can tell) a member of the forum or even on the direct contacts list on the main page. No sense in promoting the dude's name.

I've had hosts blow up my phone on weekends when I'm not even in Vegas. I explained that I wasn't around and asked them nicely to hold off on txt bombing me, and they were cool about it though.

Sounds like your guy was desperate for some grease. Maybe its slow for them right now?

That's why forums like this exist. Time after time, the same hosts that consistently provide top-notch service gets our money. Yes there's some degree of them wanting your dollars versus having it spent somewhere else but that's the nature of the business. I don't ever feel pressured from a host especially when you can always find someone else who hosts at the same club and by the law of averages they will not be as bad as the first host you talked about. Certainly if you stick some of hosts mentionned here, your experience will definitely be better.

I'd like you to actually name the venue and host that you were dealing with. Air it out.

My guess is that you were either dealing with a street promoter trying to make a few quick bucks, or somebody junior at the club that needed to meet his quota for the week.

It will be in my trip report once I get back. I leave next week so look for it the first Monday or Tuesday of December. I have everything in it from my preplanning to prepping already done, just waiting for the party part to add to it.

Darryll if you remind me, Ill let you know when I am visiting Cathouse on Dec 2nd and don't worry it wasn't you as you busted your ass for me already to accommodate a little detail

Sad thing is they give us all a bad name. There's lots of competition but there's also lots of people to go around. Some fools just crack under pressure I guess. :/
