  • New Year In Vegas

    Hi,

there are 4 of us travelling from Glasgow, Scotland arriving on 29/12/11 & staying at the venetian until 03/1/12.

We are looking to get the best out of our trip & looking for deals on Clubs / bars & restaurants in and around the strip.

Can anyone advise of the best bars /clubs to go?

I have seen offers from vegaspartypass.com & vegaspassport.com but not sure if they are 100% legitimate when they offer VIP club hopper passes.

    Thanks

From what I have seen alot of the 'club hopper' passes can be a bit shady. How many guys/girls in your group? You could possibly do guestlists, and that way get the clubs you want rather than the clubs that those sites send you to.

As far as the best clubs/bars, that depends on what you are looking for... I'm sure others can chime in on that better than me though! =)

If I were you guys I would start with 12/31 and decide what you want to do whether it be a club or a bar or just the madness on the strip and fireworks. Prices are going to vary wildly and I have no idea on your budget and how much of it you are williing to commit to that one night. Alot of good DJs that weekend, so see if anything in particular looks good. Probably best to presale anything that is possible unless you are doing tables.

There is a thread at the top of this board with events as they are added for that weekend. Once you decide on NYE, work to other nights based on other events/budget/best night for each club.

Agree with Brad, those passes are going to be hit or miss on a typical week in Vegas, on NYE and the surrounding madness, probably not going to be great at all.

Tickets Tickets Tickets - Club passes barely work on a off weekend, this is the mecca of party weekends. Dont be that guy standing outside. Expect to spend between 100 and 500 a ticket depending on the event.

I think this really is the best advice for NYE.

Line-up early, get stamped or be prepared to grease the doormen if you don't want to wait in lines.

But when you are travelling 10 hours in a plane, you want to be partying for as long as possible before you have to get back on that plane again!!

Do NOT go on the strip during new years. It is chaos and not very safe. Lot's belligerent people trying to pick fights and dudes groping girls. I believe it's around 11pm-1am that you can't go inside any of the hotels unless you have room key. Not to mention it is freezing cold and the fireworks do not last that long. I would get a room with a balcony + strip view.

I had to walk from Rao's to Prive on NYE 08-09, while it was madness, it was also great and something to check out at least once. Sure it could be unsafe, but so could NYC on NYE and that is the #1 place to be on NYE

Are we talking like to party/drink but not the whole club scene, or what?

There's always an option to find a party that doesn't involve a club scene. NYNY has a 4 hour open bar on their Brooklyn Bridge outside and Nine Fine Irishmen inside for $150, including currently undisclosed "Live Entertainment" (http://newyorknewyork.com/nye2012/) and I'm sure there are others I'm not aware of.
