For real? I've gotten plenty of tickets in California and I like the whole "it doesn't matter whether it's 10mph over the speed limit or 70mph it's two set prices" thing, plus with trial by written declaration I've technically only have two speeding tickets on my record, ever in California.

I've gotten one ticket in Nevada, I was driving home to Denver one Christmas and it was over $700 - Highway Patrol guy was an asshole though, he tacked on a whole bunch of shit; wreckless driving, failure to immediately stop, some other shit. Gave me a speech that I'm lucky I wasn't going to jail since I didn't have a valid license and registration because it wasn't from NV. Got even more livid when I said; I don't remember California succeeding from the Union. Reminded me of Denver.

wow that is insane! I was talking to my buddy who was rushing to Marquee for a clubbing night, and he told me he got caught on the NV side. I believe his ticket actually came out around $100. He said he was doing about 25 over limit and when he got stopped he was just completely honest. He straight out told the cop he has some drunk buddies in the back thats ready to rage and he was excited about partying in Vegas. The cop was cool and made it a 10 over speed limit ticket and added nothing else and let him go. No court appearances, just mailed in a check.

haha it probably didnt help that you were talking back to the cop

        My favorite Vegas "turn-around":

        Friday:
11am: Work BFF says "Hubby is flying us to Vegas tonight for dinner. Want to come with?"

12pm: Home, throwing a dress, heels, makeup and jammies into a backpack on my lunch break.

5pm: Picked up at John Wayne by friend's hubby. Swoop into Long Beach to pick up my other friend and off to Vegas!

        7pm: We're in Vegas!

There was dinner, Body English (it was that long ago), friend and I crashed in some ghetto $40/night hotel by the HRH.

        Saturday:
        8am: Back on the plane.

10:30am Home and passed out in bed.

Would do it again in a HEARTBEAT. Minus the creepy hotel...
Oh, P-tr-ck, I STILL need to borrow your German Leg Breaking Machine....Thx.

It's a 5 and a half hour flight for me from the East Coast. Anything less than 3 days just doesn't seem worth it to me.

^Agreed. I'm constantly deliberating over if a trip arriving Friday morning and leaving Sunday afternoon, back at work 8am Monday (the busiest day) for a 14 hours day would be worth it or not. I usually lean towards no, but if there wasn't a 3 hour time change, I think it could be worth it.

              2014: February 17-20, EDC/June 18-23, September

              2012: St.Pattys day/March 2012, EDC/June 2102, Labor Day/Sept 2012
              2011: May 11-15, July 9th-13th, Sept 14th-18th, Halloween 10/28-11/1, Dec 9th-13th

I've done the 3 hour time difference with arriving Friday night and leaving Sunday late morning. It sucks because flying West to East wastes so much time. That monday I regretted it a lot. I would only do it under special circumstances and not the standard Vegas trip.
