For real? I've gotten plenty of tickets in California and I like the whole "it doesn't matter whether it's 10mph over the speed limit or 70mph it's two set prices" thing, plus with trial by written declaration I've technically only have two speeding tickets on my record, ever in California.
I've gotten one ticket in Nevada, I was driving home to Denver one Christmas and it was over $700 - Highway Patrol guy was an asshole though, he tacked on a whole bunch of shit; wreckless driving, failure to immediately stop, some other shit. Gave me a speech that I'm lucky I wasn't going to jail since I didn't have a valid license and registration because it wasn't from NV. Got even more livid when I said; I don't remember California succeeding from the Union. Reminded me of Denver.
