labour day weekend nightclub

ok so gonna go ahead and book our nightclub for the saturday so just looking for some final tips, ideas, advice etc before i do.. bit of pressure on this for me as im sure most of you know when your left to sort out the main night in somewhere you have never been . anyway our budget for the night is $1500 and thats for everything bottler service and all tips.

options look to be

marquee - kaskade
lavo- paul oakenfold
the light - alesso
tryst- lil john

seems like all are pretty similar , 2 bottles of goose is what we will get. not sure if i have missed any other possible venues that will be good.

How many people are in your group?

1k minimum:
Marquee - you won't be seated in the main room and probably not even outside. Library room or boombox room seem the most likely.
Lavo - I havent been since they remodeled it into an ultra lounge so i couldnt tell you what the set up is
Light - This is just my guess I would contact a host and double check but I doubt they'll be taking anything less than 1.5k mins and thats upstairs that night. If you do get the 1k min I would be there 15 mins before they open.
Tryst - gonna have to tip big if you want to be inside with that 1k min. its gonna put you over your budget.


Those specific venues you listed are not similar. Marquee is the biggest has multiple rooms and an outside area. Light has the most hype right now which means most expensive. It's one room two floors. Lavo is an ultra lounge, the smallest of all the venues you listed and tryst is medium sized, has an outside area, the inside and a small lounge area with about 4-6 tables.

edit: i saw you mention in another thread you are there until wednesday. Given that your budget is so low and its such a busy weekend, i would do pre-sales and save your 1,500 for monday or tuesday to do tables. your money will go a lot further those nights.

i understand what your saying , i would be willing to increase the budget but to be honest the rest of the guys are pretty laid back and have the attitude that everywhere will be busy so we will have a good night anywhere so there bit reluctant to blow anymore of the kitty on 1 night.

iv been reading loads of threads on here so kinda have abit of an idea, iv contacted a few hosts so hopefully they can get us something within the budget. if not its back to the drawing board for me.

will the monday and tuesday nights be busy aswel ? anywhere you recommened on those nights ?

marquee- we would get roof deck patio.
tryst- inside table
light- just they would do thier best for location. prob depends on sales between now and ldw

Saturday Marquee and Light will be extremely packed, especially with those djs. If you can't get a table there, it might be better to go to a Tier 2 club.

Monday XS, Hakkasan, and Marquee should have big name DJs so it will still have a good amount of people there. XS has Skrillex and Diplo so you should check that out.

LIGHT for Alesso and that weekend will be 110% upstairs and not a center table unless magic happens.

Every bottle, ever where will run $595 at a minimum for fri/sat. (im pretty positive). Your minimum if you want bottles will be $1642 (592*2*1.38) for LIGHT and that's without the $200-300 you should throw host and $20-100 for other tips.

I went for Ingrosso in march (very similar to Alesso event wise) on a saturday, 4 guys 1k min. We had a decent table close to center mezz but showed up 15 minutes early and I threw a decent shake. Total for the night was somewhere like $1800 for the 4 of us.

im trying to get my group to spend 2k .. that would include host tip and other tips aswel. really dont mind if its Light or marquee we go too .

cant find who is playing in Tryst that night. there sounds like good option aswel.

id rather pay bit extra for good location. dont want to take 1500 out of kitty and take boys to a club and find ourselves sitting far from dj, girls etc. wouldnt be worth it. plus id feel responsible.

OK so as we've said on other threads the money isnt there to do what you are asking mate.

$1.5k isnt getting you even 2 bottles.

Forget Marquee. It just isnt gonna happen. Its not worth it. Light you will be out of the action and unless you hit a high handshake thats not gonna change and its not in your budget.

Tryst you will get a shot at, but again its gonna be around $1.8k to $2k to get a decent spot, and the problem with Tryst on Saturday nights is that they get girls in before 12 for free drinks... who then swan off to XS or Light or Hakkasan to hang with the big spenders so the result is youre left with a club full of dudes.

Your issue is you've picked one of, if not THE biggest holiday weekend of the year in Labor Day. Two years ago I went, my minimums were...

Wednesday: Surrender: $1k (4 guys)
Thursday: Tryst: $4k (13 guys)
Friday: Marquee: $6.5k (12 guys)
Saturday: XS: $3.5k (5 guys)
Sunday: Surrender: $2.5k (10 guys) - Outdoor cabana - it was lame.
Monday we went queue jump at XS

That was 2 years ago when bottles were $500 and there was no 10% LET. Now bottles are almost all $595 and sometimes $650. At Tryst we didnt even get a good table and only at Marquee did we get a decent one. XS was tier 3 and the two nights at Surrender were both outdoor.

If you want to go to the clubs you mention you need to be spending more. It sounds depressing, but to do what you want you gotta be spending circa $700 per night each on Labor Day weekend. Every night we were there we were close to getting bumped by groups coming up and wanting to spend $10k to $15k. The money spent over labor day weekend is frightening. You're gonna have to up the spend and turn up at places bang early to get what you want. $1.5k including taxes/grat/handshakes doesnt get you anywhere on a Saturday night on a non holiday weekend let alone Labor day

I was at XS last year for LDW celebrating my bday.... Bobby really hooked it up. We had a daybed/couch outside pretty close to the DJ set (Steve Angelo) with a lot of traffic and close to the bar... I forgot the exact table number we were at.. spent around 2.2k for 4 guys... We just did the 2 bottle minimum which was good enough... Maybe you can bump your budget to 2.5k?

Yessir! Got there right when they opened so the host hooked it up with the real estate. I booked 2 weeks prior to LDW too.
