  • Bachelor Party Advice for a Small Group

    Hey all. Havent posted in about 4 years, but found this forum invaluable back then and met some great people at the first AOD Invasion that May. I need some help. Im planning a buddy's bachelor party for May 1-5. We are staying at the Cosmopolitan. My friend thought we would have a larger crew, but a bunch if his friends bailed, so there are only 4 of us coming. We were looking to do it big, but now we may have to scale back. My question is, how would you guys scale back? Was originally thinking of doing tables at Tao Thursday night, Hakassan Friday night, Marquee Saturday night and Bank or something Sunday night. Also would have done a table at Marquee Day Club Saturday and Encore Beach Club Sunday. First off, what are we looking at for 4 of us to get a table? How many bottles? All in cost (bottles, tax, tip and assorted greasing)? Any chance of getting a decent table with only 4 dudes? Second, what would you cut out? Any places we can get away without a table but still have a good time? I was in Hakassan after it opened last year with a friend for Calvin Harris, and while the vibe was good, it sucked not having a table. Lastly, randomly another bachelor party I was invited to will be there same weekend. Their group is around 8 or 9. Any point in trying to join groups for any of these events? Any advantage to that? Sorry for the long message, but I appreciate any advice any of you can give.

    Thanks,
    Michael

    I can help

    The clubs your trying to goto, going BIG is gonna run you around 4k on up. That's to get a great table, but, if you don't care about having one of the better main room tables you can always just get a table for about 1k on up and still have a fun time. Even with just 4 guys the clubs you want depending on the day or night will still mostly be 1k just to get a table. Please feel free to contact me about any other questions and I can help you out.

      Thanks John. Yeah, I think what I was getting at, is a table minimum that weekend going to be $1000 for 4 of us at most of these places, and if so what the real total ends up being. Also, if we take a table for 4, for a $1k min, just how bad is the location? Worth having a table at all? Can we do $1k in the main rooms, but away from the dance floor? Are we better off out of the main room at some of these spots anyway? Any advantage to linking up with that larger group I am friends with here or there? As important to have a table at the pool parties as compared to the nightclubs?

        On a 1k min:

        20% auto gratuity== $200
        8% tax==$80
        10 % LET tax (We always plan for this just in case)==$100

        So $1380 so far. Add tip to host (We do $100/bottle min), $30 for busser and $50 for security.

        So 2 bottles with our group mentality tip wise all in nothing else being bought the whole night $1660 or $415/person (4) or $553/person (3) if you are covering the bach's portion.

        Now will your group only do 2 bottles at a bachelor party the entire night? No shots, beers or anything else? No inviting ladies back for a drink at the table which takes liquor out of your bottles or costs $$ to by their drink?

        Just a few things to add to the mix.

          Thanks KP, super informative. I've done the tipping the host thing before. I'm fine with it, but does that $200 on 2 bottles get my 4 person table a better location, or is it just bs? You bring up a fair point about all the extras, which I am sure will happen. Of the places I mentioned in my original post, are there any of those that you think we can get away with skipping the table at more than others? Maybe the day clubs? With the day clubs, what kind of food/beverage minimum are we usually talking about?

            Light/XS will cost you pretty much $1700 exactly for an ok table on any big night for them.

            I've done Sat at XS and LIGHT with a 9 man group and 4 man group and both cost within $50 of each other at around $1700 all-in.

            Lowest end bottle at any of the big clubs will run you something like $650-700 each without host/runner/security tip. You will need 2 most likely for your 4 (which should be plenty if you use it well).

            You definitely have a chance of getting a decent table (and from my experience, girls want a place to sit no matter where it is. You will find women that want alcohol and a seat 100% of the time) Drop $250-300 for host tip, be respectful and show up early dressed to impress. Kill with kindness.

            Take your minimum for clubs that have LET and multiply it by 1.38 to get all-in without tips. 1.28 for anywhere else i believe and possibly 1.4 for Hak?

            ^ just from my experiences which are limited

              Most would recommend it is better to skip on the table at a dayclub than at a nightclub. I would agree with that.

              I think that weekend you are planning on going is a fight weekend. So prices will be up. I would go to a lesser tier club and shoot for a better location than stick to the tier 1's. Something like Haze, Tryst, 1oak, Hyde, etc.

              I think you could get a 1 bottle min with four guys, depending on club, but be careful on location.
              If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

                Our group always establish the tip ahead of time. The point man for our group has used the same guy for the last 4 trips plus the other 6 trips I have not attended so he has a very good relationship with him so we get what we feel is good for our needs. We're more of a drinking group that is low key so dancefloor/high profile spot is not required and ladies are always looking.

                Personally I have only done pre sale for pools as I hate sitting in one spot plus being Irish I am cursed with fair skin so I have to wear the SPF 1000 wih a ball cap for he receding hairline. Can say you'll have a good time w/o a cabana etc. for that scenario.
