  • Rough plan for Stag do - advice please

    Hi,

I'm coming to Vegas on May 28th and leaving on 2nd June. Our group is 7 guys, all mid-late 20s. We are staying at the Hilton Elara.

I appreciate its pretty early to be putting a plan together but i want to give everyone in our group chance to budget and would also like to make sure i get pre-sale tickets early enough. Our group like to go out and party (EDM/Top 40/Cheesy party music/any good party atmos) but i'm not sure we can survive 5 nights running, especially if we want to do anything in the day time. I'm thinking of 2-3 club nights, one of which will be with a table, 1-2 (3?) pool parties. Vegas itself is going to be an incredible experience for us so on the non club nights i'm sure we will go to bars etc and get into some sort of party but most of the budgets just cant accommodate getting tables every night.

At the moment a rough plan of our trip, which will probably look very different in a few months:

Weds – Arrive around 2pm. Possibly book for a nice meal before the insanity begins. I've heard good things about STK. Open to suggestions. Explore, gamble, see where we end up.
Thurs – Day - ? Night - Table at a club, have reached out to Bobby Yeadon.
    Friday – Day - ? Night ?
Sat – Day - Pool party? Night - Would love to go to LIGHT, probably GA due to budget, have reached out to Joey Orr.
    Sun – Day ? Night ?

As its a stag do we would probably want to fit in one or two day time activities like shooting, quad biking etc - very open to suggestions if you have had a good experience.

As far as the non club nights i don't have my heart set on anything in particular. Bar recommendations are welcome, especially if there is a pool table or something else we can be competitive with (beer pong would be perfect, darts would be acceptable). We could always do GA at a club if we don't have anything planned. How close to the event can you buy presale tickets online? Where do you pick them up from?

I've heard great things about Ghost Bar (is that what its called? Great view, bit off the strip?) It would be good to squeeze that in if its worth it? Also think that chandelier bar at cosmo looks too insane to not at least pop in. I heard about a place (Todd English?) you get a free beer if you can down it in under 7 seconds, HAVE to fit that in, free beer...

I've been a lurker here for a while now and i have done lots of reading so hopefully im not asking too many stupid questions!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Now we're talking. I'm going to throw a ton at you that we did for mine in July and 2 other bach parties. Sorry for the length ahead of time but hopefully it helps:

A low key night can be a lounge. Cosmo, etc.

Light Group has a solid deal:

    http://lightgroup.com/wp-content/upl...AUG-2013-2.pdf

You can upgrade $100 to top shelf. Personally did the Gold Boutique and was a good more low key non crazy spending night with good music and talent.

Light also does pre fixed deals for guys at all of their restaurants. Click on the More Info box next to the title: Come celebrate the weekend VIP style with The Light Group! You'll have to go through each one individually but if $$$ is in play this may be a good option:

    http://lightgroup.com/?page_id=97

    Beer Pong:

PBR Rock Bar 2 for 1 beer pong daily, Sunday $20 open bar if you follow them on twitter or something plus other deals:

    http://www.pbrrockbar.com/

Also have DB's for beer pong, pool, darts, etc in PH.

    http://www.dbspongandpool.com/

Startosphere rides were solid, did the unlimited:

    http://www.stratospherehotel.com/Tower/Rides

Sky Jump is a separate cost but unreal. Make sure you're not hung over or drunk if you opt for this one.

Todd English has 2 great happy hours a day. Only beat the 7 second timer once out of 4 times. Beat it as my first beer of the day. When I'm already in mode or hungover it's a struggle. A pint of Guiness style beer they give you. The free beer is the pint you just slammed. If you lose it's $8 for that race.

The Pub in Monte Carlo has a solid happy hour and over 100 beers on tap. Get a table outside which is right next to the pool so you can catch some views:

    http://www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/the-pub.aspx

Definitely do Fremont Street for a few hours one night or make it a night. Mermaids had $1 Coors and $3 top shelf. DCR is a pretty cool lounge holds 400 max. More house there. Vanguard was another 300-400 venue that was doing more dubstep the night we went (Thurs). Link to their map:

    http://www.fremontstreetbars.com/fre...-las-vegas-map

We did Gold Diggers one night at Golden Nugget. The patio outside that looks over Fremont Street was all EDM. Inside club was all over the place going from rap to EDM to pop. Can get free passes outside Golden Nugget or else $10/person to get in. Cheap mixed drinks/beers/shots vs he strip and when you tip well they in turn give you drinks/shots for free. Totally different vibe from the strip. We were in shorts and t shirts.

Did Brand Steakhouse for my bach dinner. 3rd time eating there for me. Got reservations the day of since we were in a good zone and undecided about dinner. 15 minute wait to get to our table, had drinks in their lounge while waiting.

May want to do Carnival Court one night also by Harrahs. Outdoor location with live band or dj with dance floor. Very casual attire and more of a just party mode personally.

      Some good up there.

I was looking for a beer pong place since O'Shea's closed down. How is the pricing for beer pong in the places you listed? Is it comparable to how cheap O'shea's used to be?

Also, I wouldn't recommend Fremont street. I mean if you go to Vegas often enough it's worth seeing on one trip or if you are on an extended stay, but otherwise you can find cheap places to go on strip without having to travel down-town. That's just me though.
If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!

Awesome - thanks so much for that folks.

Those beer pong pubs look amazing, especially DBs - looks easy to get to from the Elara, i can see us spending lots of time there.

Do you know how the pricing works with beer pong? Do you pay per hour on the table or something?

For a regular game you pay $5 to buy the combo cups with balls to use and you buy the pitchers which run anywhere from $12-$17 bucks. Rolling Rock, Sierra nevada, etc. I counted 7 tables in July. Only thing you may be able to do to bypass the pitcher cost is go during the happy hour and go all draft beers and tip the bartender well to feed you the beer needed for the cups. Figure 3 games low end is $36 while happy hour is $20 for 3 hours of drafts or wells.

My best man paid at PBR but it was probably around the same price. Less tables, 4 if I remember.

DB reminds me of the college bars, the tables may/prob will need a wipe down before you start and definitely make sure you have a water cup on each end.

O'Sheas re opened 12/27 by the Quad at the new Linq area but I don't know what the prices are there.

McFadden's up in Town Square (about 1/2 mile from Luxor up LV Boulevard) was super solid. I went there on a Friday and it was jam packed at 11:30-12:00 am. Beer pong, good looking girls, decent DJ, food. 3 bars. Solid choice.

I guess Thursdays there just explode for college night.

Wonder if there is still Beer Pong at O'Shea's. It used to be dirt cheap like only buying a $10 or less a pitcher, but you had to fight your way to a table.

They do have beer pong according to the local write ups in the Journal and stuff when they re opened. Don't say what the prices are or anything in the articles. According to this article 6 tables at the new location.

Yeah, being newly remodeled, I bet the price is jacked up. From w hat I remember they used to have about 8 tables, so it looks like they lost some space, unless I'm mistaken.

It looks like Bally's is in beer pong central, with Ballys being centered bewteen DBs, PBR, and Oshea's! Sweet, especially if pool parties aren't open!
