  • First Bachelor Party May 31-June 2, 2013

    Hey Everyone!

I have been put in charge of planning my brother's bachelor party for May 31-June 2, 2013. While I have been to Vegas, I have yet to attend a bachelor party so not only will I be planning, but this will be the first one I am attending so any tips or comments to what I'm planning would be appreciated!

    Group Size: 15-20
    Ages: Mid to late 20's
    Music Preference: EDM & Hip-hop

    So far I'm thinking...

    Friday: Nightclub, strip club.
Saturday: Pool party, nightclub, strip club.
Sunday: Pool party, early dinner before everyone leaves.

People will be arriving at different times on Friday (bachelor will not be arriving until 9-10pm) so I figure we just use it as a warm-up for Saturday and just head to a night club then maybe a strip club after. Saturday definitely want to go to a pool party and then head out at night.

The main thing I'm afraid of is since we are a large group, we may have trouble getting into a nightclub without bottle service. A lot of the guys going are on a budget, so I'm trying to research as many options as possible to try and find a deal that will work for everyone. If we had to choose just one, we would probably get a cabana at a pool party over bottle service at a night club but may consider both if the price is right.

    Preferred Places:

Night Clubs: Marquee, Hakkasan, XS, 1OAK, Surrender
    Pools: EBC, Marquee, Surrender

Some of the guys are talking about pre-sale tickets, some want to do bottle service, so it's pretty much open-to-discussion right now. I know for Hakkasan we would be doubtful to get a table because I'm assuming since it's new, it will be too expensive so we might just check it out on Friday. I'm hoping you all can help me as far as figuring how to get the best deals on bottle service and cabanas, which promoters to go through, and any other tips that will help this trip be great for everyone! I'll keep doing my research on this site as well. Since it's my brothers bachelor party I'm hoping to convince the group to do at least one!

Lastly of course, which strip clubs are recommended for large groups and which locations have the best prices? Or would you recommend trying to get a stripper for the room? Are there any good companies that can pick you up in a party bus with a stripper? Would only be interested if it wasn't too expensive since we would probably only be in it for less than 30 minutes.

Apologies for the long post but just wanted to share as much information as I could so you get a better picture of what I'm working with. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

[Throw a good steak dinner into Sat night, or as the final early dinner on Sunday]

[IMO, tables at nightclubs are more important than at pool parties -- 15-20 dudes can chill in the pool or on ledges, but making them stand for hours at night, while 10 drinks deep is much more of a challenge]

    Preferred Places:

Night Clubs: Marquee, Hakkasan, XS, 1OAK, Surrender

[(1)Your preferred nightclubs list looks good, though I'm wondering why you didn't throw Light into the mix? In my opinion, because the prices are still attainable (and not as $$$ as Hakk seems to have gone), it will be one of the most popular spots (if not the #1 spot on Saturday when you are there).]

[(2) You will need to make a choice on music preference. If you want EDM, then cross 1OAK off the list. If you want hiphop, then cross everything else off and do 1OAK.]

    Pools: EBC, Marquee, Surrender

[(1) I would add Daylight to that list too. It will only have opened the weekend before and will be very busy. Everyone will want to check out the new place. Also, Wet Republic now has a much better lineup with the Hakkasan DJs now performing there.]

[(2) Surrender is not a pool party -- though it does have a Splash Dance event on Thursday nights (similar to XS Nightswim).]

[(3) Where are you staying? If you are at Cosmo or MGM, then there might be free entry benefits to Marquee/Wet Republic]

[(4) FYI, so far, the only announced act is Kaskade @ Marquee Dayclub, which is always very popular. He is at Marquee the night before too.]

I'll keep doing my research on this site as well. Since it's my brothers bachelor party I'm hoping to convince the group to do at least one!

[(1) Checking out Hakkasan on Friday is a good idea -- but buy your presale tickets early, because some presales have been selling out. I agree that at this stage, if some of your group is on a budget, then Hakk might be too expensive.]

[(2) If you will not be doing bottles at certain events, then get presales. When you are in the line, split up into groups of 3 or 4, and stagger your entry (i.e. first group of 3 or 4 walks into line, then a minute or 2 later the next 3 or 4, and so on). While in the line, pretend like you don't know each other. The reason I say this is because even if you have presale tickets, the bouncers will be tougher on you re dress code / drunkenness if you are all one big group. If you are smaller groups, then you won't get scrutinised so heavily. Also, get to the pool/nightclub early to get in quicker and so you aren't given a hard time by the bouncers.]

Lastly of course, which strip clubs are recommended for large groups and which locations have the best prices? Or would you recommend trying to get a stripper for the room?

[(1) For the best girls, go to Spearmint Rhino; for a good deal, get in touch with Sophie at OGs. There are good deals to be had at Rhino, but those are in the afternoon -- not so much the peak time that you will be there.]

[(2) With that many dudes, you will need a lot of girls, otherwise it will be a bit creepy / awkward. At least at a strip club, many of you can be entertained at the same time, even if just watching girls on the pole.]

Once you nail down where you want to go, I will give you some suggested people to get in contact with for arranging a table.

If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

for strip club recommendations, sapphire is big enough to fit your party with a lot of general seating compared to spearmint rhino where it's very small and very limited seating unless you get bottle service there. You can easily call their number when you're ready for pick up, have a limo pick you up from your hotel or hotel your club is in and get free entry and i believe first drink is on the house along with comp'd admission.

If half the group wants to do bottle service, you should definitely set it up and do a nightclub over dayclub like ocam stated, I would prob recommend to do it on saturday night after a nice dinner and go out with a bang. For the other half that doesn't want to do bottles, you should advise them to get presales for the club you're doing bottle service at and that way the minimum won't be too high and those who were part of the bottle drink and entertain girls with the bottle while the presale guys buy their drinks at the bar but also have a home base to chill at with you guys.

When you say it like that, that makes a very good point.

Your preferred nightclubs list looks good, though I'm wondering why you didn't throw Light into the mix? In my opinion, because the prices are still attainable (and not as $$$ as Hakk seems to have gone), it will be one of the most popular spots (if not the #1 spot on Saturday when you are there).

I was actually thinking to add Light to the list since none of us have ever been to Light or Hakk. How is the vibe at Light? And I know they will want to go to Marquee at least once since everyone loves it there but I will go ahead and throw Light in the mix. Now I just have to wait and see what the prices are looking like for each club (pre-sale/bottles).

You will need to make a choice on music preference. If you want EDM, then cross 1OAK off the list. If you want hiphop, then cross everything else off and do 1OAK.

The group's musical preference can go either way. With Light and Hakk, is there a separate hip-hop room like the Boom Box in Marquee?

I would add Daylight to that list too. It will only have opened the weekend before and will be very busy. Everyone will want to check out the new place. Also, Wet Republic now has a much better lineup with the Hakkasan DJs now performing there.

Wow just looked up Daylight and it looks like that would be a good time as well. Guess I'm adding that as another option...

Where are you staying? If you are at Cosmo or MGM, then there might be free entry benefits to Marquee/Wet Republic

Hotel is TBD but most likely either Cosmo, MGM, Elara, Palazzo/Venetian, or Mandalay.

Checking out Hakkasan on Friday is a good idea -- but buy your presale tickets early, because some presales have been selling out. I agree that at this stage, if some of your group is on a budget, then Hakk might be too expensive.

Yeah since a bunch of us will be arriving late, pre-sale will most likely be the way-to-go if we don't get bottles. I forget, but is their a cutoff time for entrance with pre-sale at most clubs?

If you will not be doing bottles at certain events, then get presales. When you are in the line, split up into groups of 3 or 4, and stagger your entry (i.e. first group of 3 or 4 walks into line, then a minute or 2 later the next 3 or 4, and so on). Good tip, thanks!

Haha exactly. I'm sure the strip club will be the last thing we have to worry about (hopefully). I've been to Spearmint and Sapphire, not sure (or can't remember) if I ever went to OG'.s I will definitely try and contact Sophie to get pricing options. But yeah, once I get a better sense of where we are going, I will definitely let you know!
How far in advance would you start finalizing table reservations (if we go that route?) Should I wait to see all the line-ups before starting to contact promoters for pricing options? I for sure will work on getting the hotel down so we get that out of the way in the meantime...
        We have to go back...

Thanks for the response Nighthawk! Would it better to call the club itself or go through specific individuals like ocam suggests (Sophie and OG's)? As for the table, I was wondering if that would work. Those that just want pre-sales head to out spot later on and we just divide everything later.

Wait until lineups are out. Start making contact 2-3 weeks before the event (or a month beforehand if you are really paranoid)

Try a VIP host first if they don't respond then it doesn't hurt to call the club directly, works well for me, never had a problem with it. It should work fine with tables just know you gotta stand your ground when it comes to bottles and people with presales drinking them no matter how close you guys are to each other or else some people will find it unfair and drama might arise.

Thanks for all the info guys.

-Hotel should be booked by next week, most likely The Venetian.
-I will contact Sophie for OG's and also research the other strip clubs for their table options/specials.
-It seems like everyone wants to go Marquee at least one night and then also try either Hakkasan or Light. However, we are still open to any clubs and I'm sure after researching and getting a better sense of bottle$ we can make a decision. Might even do 1OAK if we can get a good deal because the bachelor prefers hip-hop.
-As far as pool parties, several people in the group are saying Marquee. I'm also suggesting EBC or trying out Daylight. We will probably go to one on Sunday too so it's not really a big deal.

Does anyone have experience using the Marquee weekend wristband? Is it worth it?

I personally haven't used the Marquee wristbands so I don't know

As far as that weekend you are coming daylight will be open so I would consider that.

Strip club wise Sapphire and The Rhino could accommodate your group for sure

I would see how many people are interested in bottle service for sure then you can get a good estimate on how much your table will cost

Thanks for the info NimahH and NoahRam! The list of people going should be finalized by next week so I will get a better picture of everything by then. Also waiting for the lineups for that weekend so I can start comparing bottle options and also want to see what people think of Light...

Now confirmed 15 people for the bachelor party so here is an update on what we are thinking:

                            Friday: nightclub, strip club
Saturday: pool party, nightclub, strip club
Sunday: pool party, buffet or dinner

                            Day: EBC, Marquee Dayclub, Daylight
                            Night: Hakkasan, Marquee, Light, XS

For Friday since people are arriving late, looking into just buying pre-sale tickets for Hakk and Tiesto and then hitting a strip club after. For Hakkasan and the pre-sale tickets, what time is the cut-off for entrance?

The only DJ announced so far for Saturday is Kaskade so Saturday options are still open. As far as the pool party is concerned, might be looking into pre-sale tickets as well but wouldn't mind getting the cheapest table/couch or whatever for just a spot to chill every now and then if possible? This thing is just hard to plan with everyones budget. I think everyone would rather spend more more Saturday night for bottle service because at least you can spread out at the pool as oppose to 15 guys at the club.

Not worrying too much about the strip clubs, probably hit up OG for the buy one get one.

We are really looking into getting bottle service Saturday night but for such a large group, what club would everyone recommend from the list below? 15 guys but could go down to 13 because I know 2 guys that don't want in. Any suggestions or wait a couple weeks for full lineups to get the prices?

Sorry I'm just eager to square everything away and it took so much to coordinate the room! Thanks again guys for any tips or suggestions.

EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."
