  • Jockey Club on Airbnb

I'm planning a Vegas trip for a group of 8-12 guys for April next year (early, I know). It's mixed group in terms of $$$. One guy wants a penthouse suite on the strip while another wants the cheapest off-strip place he can find. I have really been price hunting and wanted your opinion on getting a place on airbnb. I found a spot at the Jockey Club with the Bellagio fountain view at a relatively reasonable price.

Has anyone gone through airbnb/vrbo? Is it gonna be the best bang for your buck?

I have never heard anything negative about Jockey Club. Best price? It all depends on dates and such. It's all about the research.

The guy looking for the cheapest room and the guy wanting a suite are a wash in my mind. I would be looking at where the middle of the pack guys are looking for in regards to price per night and go in that direction.

Not sure what Jockey Club will cost but look at Vdara also.

For strip hotels I would look at Planet Hollywood, Mirage, Treasure Island and my go to when I just need a room to crash, Harrah's. Not sure how things are with Monte Carlo with all of the construction but another location I have enjoyed.

I've booked places in Vegas on VRBO many times, although never the Jockey Club. I've booked houses off the strip, and also condos at Vdara and Signature @ MGM Grand. Have never had a bad experience doing this. The benefit to a condo property is you can save $$ by using the kitchen and fridge. Local grocery store called Vons (Safeway) will deliver to the condo so you can save $$ on meals and drinks. VRBO is typically cheaper than booking directly thru the property.

Re: Jockey Club, just an FYI- I'm told their pool is totally in the shade due to the properties built around it, and not very good in general. And with the Cosmo and Bellagio built around it, it's a bit out of place. However- the location between these two properties, and center strip, can't be beat.

Jockey club is great for what it is. You can get a 2 or 3 bedroom place with kitchen/fridge that is on the strip in a prime location in the middle of the strip and it's right next to cosmo.

It won't have all the amenities of the other properties but i think its great bang for your buck. I'd go that route if you are actually going to use the kitchen/fridge and want the extra space.
