  • Good people of JC.... Bachelor/stag party help needed

Hello people. First time poster here. Really need your help.

My mate is getting married and i am best man. Trying to drop the best bachelor party/holiday i can.We have booked 5 nights in Vegas at MGM hotel. Landing Mon 27th - flying out Sat 1st June. This much is booked so no scope to change it, i appreciate weekend would have been better but it cost much less and i hear every night party night in Vegas.

Group of 16 altogether from England. Majority are late 20's, couple of older guys also (dads/uncles) but they are still the right side of 50 so not really old. I have never been before, but After some research on JC this is what im thinking...

Monday - land in afternoon, check in hotel, and just explore the strip taking in sights. Go crazy, get drunk, have fun and see where the night takes us.

Tuesday - leaving this one blank also so people can do whatever they want. More exploring, prob hit some casinos etc.

Wednesday - Thinking early flight by plane over the Grand Canyon. cant afford chopper so just gonna take a plane trip. Should be back by early afternoon apparently. The younger guys really want to hit a club this night. We prefer electro or EDM to hip hop and rnb. Looking at the options on a Wednesday looks like Surrender looks pretty classy, but the one in the Luxor looks like more of a 'giant superclub'. Still waiting on DJ at surrender for our date but leaning towards that. Is it a good option? I would prob use the links here to get a bottle/table service deal or 10 guys will never get let in i imagine.

Thursday - Again the younger guys want to hit a pool party while we are there. Appreciate weekends are meant to be better but if its gonna be a Thursday im guessing wet republic prob our best option??(especially as in our hotel). Again we might get a bottle type service and get a lounger or something (prob cant afford cabana). If they shut at 7pm, do they have after parties??

Fri - BACHELOR PARTY!! This is the only day we are going to make mandatory for everyone young and older. Thinking about grabbing some lunch (maybe Bellagio buffet), then gonna head over to old town / fremont street area. We English quite like to dress up in stupid costumes on bachelor parties, i hear that isnt so big in the states, but that wont put us off lol. Looks like this part of vegas is a little more 'cheap and cheerful' and you can hop from bar to bar with no ques and less strict dresscodes (ie they might let 15 guys dressed like WWE vintage wrestlers in... or similar). Later that evening we would hit a big strip club. Spearmint or Sapphires??? (or other)

Sat - scrape ourselves out of bed, check out and head to airport.

Right apologies for the mega long post. Godf people of JC please bombard me with your tips, suggestions, advice for improvements on the plan etc.

Mucho thanks in advance. I will check back often!

I really enjoy Surrender - you won't be disappointed, especially if there is a class DJ (which there almost always is). With the cost of admission for presale tickets for a group of that size, you're better off getting a table. Don't get a cabana in the Encore Beach Club area though - it's out of the action and not worth the money. With your group size, you should be able to afford an inside table, which will make for a VERY good night.

Wet Republic is a good shout, and could be convenient since it is in the MGM too. For your Wet Republic needs, contact Thomas Gorman 702.340.6498. Keep in mind that Liquid [contact Isaac Kaz Curry 702.900.6755] has its industry day on Thursday I believe and might be just as good if not better than WR. Tao Beach [contact Chris Traer 702.510.5286] is a third option for Thurs.

Since you're staying at the MGM, I think you can get free entry to Wet Republic before 1pm, so maybe check it out - and if it's not looking good within a couple hours, then bail to Liquid or Tao Beach?

Given it's a Thursday, a cabana (or daybed) will be cheaper than you think so don't dismiss that as a potential option. Between 10-16 guys the cost per person will be pretty good.

There's no real "after party" - most people go and have a nap and/or get dinner somewhere and then hit the clubs later in the night. That night you should go to Tryst or Tao if you like EDM. Should be able to get some deals too (i.e. free bottle(s) where you just pay the tax and grat).

I'm not really sure about your Friday plan to be honest. I wouldn't bother with the old Fremont area. If you really want to do it, see it on that free Tuesday... Friday is one of the best nights in Vegas and you should want to be on the Strip in the middle of the action.

    Spearmint Rhino fr the win.

      Hi Jef-
I think most important thing to realize is your timing-
May 27th is Memorial Day in the United States
Memorial day weekend starting- Friday May 24, Saturday May 25, Sunday May 26, Monday May 27 is one of the top 3 busiest weekends in Las Vegas all year- It is the start of Summer.
All of the nightclubs and pools have tremendous talent lineups.
So yes it would be much more expensive for flights, hotels, night club entry if you were a few days early.
Put another way you are kind of going to the New Years party on January 2- most people are all partied out and broke- Why everything is cheaper that week!

That being said you will have a great time in vegas- its just important to understand the context.

Monday- not sure when everyone's flights get in- but David Guetta is having his pool party at Encore Beach Club.
It will be very busy- so unless your getting there before 12pm with presale tickets or have a table reservation I would pass. David will probably come around 3pm.
There will also be a pool party at Wet Republic at MGM Grand- big name talent- TBA- similar in the sense of getting there early or table.
Also keep an eye on Daylight pool party at Mandalay bay it is opening Memorial day weekend.

Monday Night-Steve Angello at XS- the last MDW party
      http://xs.wantickets.com/Events/1244...orial-Weekend/

In terms of the Grand Canyon- there is the South Rim and the West Rim. The south rim is the classic Grand Canyon views- Mather Point. The West Rim is quicker to get to and more expensive to enter.
To compare the cost South Rim is $25 per vehicle that enters.
      http://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisi...servations.htm
West Rim is like $40 a person.

The cheapest way to go would be to rent a 12 passenger van and drive it out.
The cheapest South Rim bus tour is $80 a person. I have seen Helicopters from $200 a person to $400 a person.

In terms of EDM night clubs- worth checking talent lineups for your dates: the resident djs are listed for each club

      Hakkasan: Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
      (pool) Wet Republic:
Bambi Bingo Players Bob Sinclair Calvin Harris Dada Life Danny Avila deadmau5 Fergie Hardwell Laidback Luke NERVO Quintino R3HAB Steve Aoki Tiesto Tommy Trash Michael Woods
      (new)

      XS: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday
Surrender: Wednesday Friday Saturday (some Thursdays)
      Tryst: Thursday Friday Saturday
      (pool) Encore Beach Club:
Above & Beyond Adrian Lux Afrojack AN21 (Avicii (non-exclusive residency) Bassnectar Cazzette Cedric Gervais Chris Lake David Guetta Deniz Koyu Dillon Francis Diplo Dirty South Eric Prydz Fedde LeGrand

Manufactured Superstars Martin Solveig Max Vangeli Michael Woods Morgan Page Nero Norman Doray Porter Robinson Red Foo Rusko Sidney Samson Steve Angello Sultan & Ned Shepard Swanky Tunes
      will.i.am Wolfgang Gartner Zeds Dead

      Light
      (pool) Daylight
Skrillex Axwell Sebastian Ingrosso A-Trak Alesso Alvin Risk Andy Caldwell Baauer Bassjackers Carl Kennedy Clockwork Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike Hook N Sling Mat Zo Nicky Romero Otto Knows Sebastien Drums Stafford Brothers Steve Powers Thomas Gold Krewella Zedd
      (new)

      Marquee Friday Saturday Monday
      (pool) Marquee Day Club
      Kaskade is main resident
Gareth Emery Erick Morillo Benny Benassi Arty Sunnery James Ryan Marcaino Sander Van Doorn Eric Dlux EC Twins W & W Comsic Gate Dash Berlin Ferry Corsten, DJ Vice
      (Avicii (non-exclusive residency)

I would also think of how much traveling between places your going to do. Moving 16 people around can get very costly in cabs.
You can get a 24 hour unlimited ride bus card that will take you up and down the strip and to fremont street for $8 a person but its going to take about 1 hour each way on the city bus from MGM to Fremont st.

Since its a bachelor party would also throw in some Free Limo ride/ Free entry strip clubs- they would love 16 guys!

      Have fun!

        Hi ocam

Thanks for taking time to reply. Really appreciate it.

Wed - Sounds like Surrender on wednesday could be a good option then. I presumed as we'll be a group of 8-10 guys we would almost certainly have to get a table/bottle service just to get in at all.

I'l make sure we try and get one inside, not outside. Looks like DJs will prob be released for the night in question in next few weeks so that will be interesting.

Thursday - With regards for WR i thought we would again prob have to book some kind of table/area with bottle service to get us in. I heard the ques can be like 2 hours long on the door, and also they can be a bit selective (hot girls only lol). Appreciate thursday wouldnt be as busy as weekend though. Maybe we can get a better price on reserved area seeing its a thursday, and that we are staying in hotel.

I havent heard much about the two other pool parties you mentioned before, are they a little smaller in scale than WR?

Perhaps the new MGM club Hakkasan could be an option for the Thursday night, however if we have been partying at WR all day that could be a super expensive day altogether, and we might not be let in if we have had a fair bit to drink already.

Friday - I see what you are saying about staying on the strip. We have a bit of a brittish tradition of dressing up in stupid costumes on the bachelor party. I got the feeling this might not too well received by places on the strip, as they have a stricter smart dress code?? I thought the freemont/oldtown area loked a bit more relax and easier to bar hop even if dressed like idiots.

Spearmint it is for the evening then, i will arrange a taxi/limo directly with them as i hear it oftens helps you get in for free if you do it that way (more money for inside ha ha)

Any further comments about any of that would be gratefully received. Thanks again for all your help

        Steve

If you have free passes to Wet Republic and get there at the right time, I don't see why they wouldn't let you in. Thursdays are slow at WR so you could probably get a daybed/cabana for cheap... Liquid is smaller in scale than WR, but on a Thursday might have just as many people.

You probably won't get into any clubs on the strip in theme. What I mean is, why not do the costume day on Tuesday, then go to a club on the Strip on Friday (which will be a better day to visit a club).

The limo for spearmint works best outside of peak areas - so you won't have much luck trying to get picked up at 1-2am. You'll just have to get cabs there and pay cover.

Since you're missing out on the weekend and arriving on Memorial Day, here's how I'd plan it:

Monday- Landing in the afternoon, grab a bite to eat and take a quick 1-2 hour power nap. You will want to hit up either XS (w/ Guetta) or Marquee (TBA) as it's Memorial Day and will be like experiencing Vegas on a weekend. Might as well start off the trip with a BANG! If $$$ is an issue, buy presale passes. Mondays are usually Industry nights for both and usually have cheaper mins but since its a holiday you might want to check anyways.

Tuesday- I'd put everything you'd plan to do for the BACHELOR PARTY!!! here... Fremont street is just kinda ehhh imo but you'll definitely will be able to get away with the costumes here. Wouldn't say there's much to do here in terms of night life though but a cheap way to get smash. Definitely call Spearmint Rhino's to have a limo pick you up free of charge as well as free entry. By doing SR on a Tuesday, you'll get a LOT more attention because it'll less crowded. Friday night would be JAM Packed and you'd probably want to end the trip with another bang to close it...

Wednesday- Day time, keep original plans. Night time for sure try out Surrender w/ bottle service in the main room. I honestly don't think BS outside is all that bad myself if you're located right outside the entrance. You should have fun either way. Might also want to look into The Act @ Palazzo as I hear it's picking up steam...

Thursday- I'd go with Liquid's pool party @ Aria here. It's their industry party and should be a good crowd. Just do General Admission for this one and save some $$$ for Friday's pool party. Hit up either Tryst or Tao this night as both are usually good. Tryst more EDM centric and better talent usually.

Friday- Here's where you go out with a BANG! and where the real BACHELOR PARTY should look like. Since you're staying @ MGM hit up Wet Republic early for free admission or go big with a Cabana!Cabana are usually cheaper on Friday's anyways. Friday WR definitely has a better crowd then Thursday for sure! Now for the finale you have a choice of XS/Hakk/Light/Marquee. Get a table. Rage. Have the best time of your lives!

Go Hard or go Home. =P

              Hi guys

thanks again for the info. Artedm, thanks for all the great EDM club info also. I wrote you a reply earlier but for some reason it was markes as pending moderation then it didnt work, now it has dissapeared.

Il try reply to everyone here....

artedm - Thanks for the heads up on MDW (he im even picking up the abbreviations now lol). I knew it was a holiday but didnt realise quite how much of a big deal partywise it was. Looking at the lineups that weekend i now see what you mean. unfortunately we dont get in till around dinner time on Monday so no chance on Guetta. Angelo at XS in evening sounds pretty epic, however from experience of many trips to Ibiza i tend to find that as people are so excited on first night to be on holiday all best made plans go out of the window. Theres a decent chance we might end up paying for advance tickets/bottle service and then not making it because everyone has gone crazy and got lost. Also not sure what the 12 hr flight will do to people in terms of jetlag/in flight drinking.

Here is the link to the flight over grand canyon i was looking at. helicopter too expensive but this is in budget. I imagine you would get great views from the air, plus it only takes half a day so we can go first thing and be back from lunchtime. It goes over west rim and also Hoover dam.
              http://www.allgrandcanyontours.com/b...ge=TourDetails

I hadnt even heard of Hakkasan. Probably because its so new it doesnt even have a JC article on the website yet. Just checked it out though and the DJs they have are awesome, its in our hotel, plus as its brand new i imagine it will be very busy. Def worth a look.

Ocam and ENC012E - I appreciate your thoughts on the bachelor party day. I wanted to have it nearer the end of the holiday so that everyone could be involved (young and old) for one final blowout. However it now seems pretty clear that Friday would be better for WR (and possibly onto a club to finish).

What do you reckon to the idea of switching the batchelor party to the thursday, that way it would still be nearish the end, but we could still experience the proper Friday night on the strip??

              That would make it....
Mon - Go crazy on strip
Tuesday - more of the same and general hit casinos etc
Wed - grand canyon (am), surrender bottle service in eve
Thu - batchelor party - costumes in fremont and then limo onto Spearmint Rhino to finish
Fri - Wet republic by day (will lok at cabana prices), hit a club (hakassan??) or the strip in eve (if we still have the steam)

AGain thanks for all your comments and please feel free to keep them coming.

                  Hello guys

thanks for posting the info. I have been having a bit of a nightmare on here typing really long replies and then when i try to post they say they are being sent to moderator for approval.

Good news i think i have sussed it out. I think its because i had posted a link to the grand canyon tour i was going to book, and i think due to the link and me being a new poster it got flagged up.

                  Right back to business......

Artedmn - i was aware it was MDW but i must admit i dont think i really understood what a big deal that was partywise in vegas. thanks for filling me in, looking at the lineups that weekend the talent speaks for itself. Dont land until dinner time on Monday so Guetta is a non starter unfortunately. Angello @ XS in the evening is a tempting proposition indeed. In my experience of many holidays to ibiza i tend to find that on first night people are so excited that best laid plans for out of the window. Im cautious of booking up bottle service only for us all to get split up and not make it. Also im not sure exactly what the 12 hour flight, probably with a fair bit to drink will do to everyone. I think i will prob avoid booking anything, but if we do end up looking for club late night that would be the option (or is that a total pipe dream of general entry on such a busy night).

For the grand canyon i have found a tour by plane on a website called all grand canyon tours. You set off early from vegas airport, fly over lake mead, west rim and hoover before landing back at lunch time. I think the views must be great from the air, plus it only knocks a morning out rather than a whole day. They do a lot of different tours but this Tour is 140 dollars (cheapest one) which is in our budget. tried to post a link but thats whats been breaking my posts. If anyone wants to google it to check if they think its a good option that would be great. helicopter tours are too expensive, and i think if we drive it would take ages (plus probably hungover and not in any fit state).

Thanks for the info on the EDM clubnights. Really interested in hakkasan. As its so new it doesnt have a JC writeup and therefore i was completely unaware of it ha ha. Even though its actually in our hotel. Im thinking a Wet republic day followed by hakkasan would be awesome (although mega expensive and require some staying power) and its right on our doorstep.

Ocam/Mike/ENC - thanks for yiour input also guys.

I now definitely get the feeling from you all that the Friday batchelor party needs to be moved in favour of a big friday Wet republic and then club finish. I appreciate what you are saying about moving batchelor to tuesday, but ideally i wanted to do it near the end as bit more of a blow out. plus its the one thing the older guys can also join in on, and could really break a few of us ha ha. What about batchelor party on Thursday (fremont in costume with Spearmint Rhino finish). Basically swapping the Thursday/Friday from original plan.

I dont think we will do club nights every night, as we will no doubt have to mainly get bottle service to get in, and we cant afford 4/5 nights of that. That would now be...

Mon - Land, go nuts on the strip for last day of MDW and see where the wind takes us
Tues - Free day where we can explore the strip and do some gambling and stuff
Wed - Grand canyon am, Chill in afternoon, Surreender bottle service in evening
Thursday - batchelor party! fremont in costume with Spearmint Rhino finish
Friday - Wet Republic in day (maybe Cabana), Hakkasan in evening (bottle service)

what do you reckon to that?

looks like keeping them shorter works. Definitely taking on board the views about not going to fremont on Friday for batchelor.
Dont really want to do it as early as Tuesday, but the Thursday/Friday swap could be a good option then.
Move the batchelor party to Thursday (costumed in fremont then Spearmint Rhino to finish - will SR let us in in costumes? providing we have cash and are well behaved).
Go to wet republic on Friday (cabana) and maybe Hakkasan (bottle) to finish. Mega expensive last day but would be some big Friday finish.

Also looks like everyone is pretty happy with the idea of Surrender as a wednesday night club option, so i will definitely try and lock that down. T

his is the GC tour i am looking at, its in budget and only takes a morning out of the party schedule. Views must be great from air. west rim, lake mead, hoover all flown over. http://www.allgrandcanyontours.com/b...ge=TourDetails
helicopter too expensive, driving too much hardwork with hangover, dont want a bus tour as not an old lady lol
