  • First Vegas trip for this Aussie gal!

    Hi Everyone!

I'm a 22yr old female from australia and I will be making my first trip to vegas may next year. It's a fair way off but I'm pretty excited but I will admit a little nervous as well.

I'm travelling on my own because if i waited for someone to come with me
I'd never make it. I have a million questions but I'll start with a few important ones.

    1. As a single female travelling alone where would you recommend I stay?

    2. Am I going to be okay/have fun at pool parties and nightclubs alone?

Bit of information to help you answer; I'm super friendly and sociable and totally used to going out on my own. I'm coming over to party hard and have a full vegas experience and will have between $5000-$6000 to spend including accommodation.

    Thanks in advance!

If your good looking you will be getting approached all the time- if your not good looking you will be getting approached all the time.

    1. 1st weekend in May will probably be a fight weekend, 2nd weekend rio in rio 80,000 person concert, 3rd weekend rio in rio, 4th is memorial day weekend.
So a lot going on! All the pools parties and nightclubs will be open. Lineups will come out probably 30-60 days out.
    2. pool parties usually open around 11am with headline dj on at 3pm going till around 6pm, nightclubs open around 11pm with headline dj on at 1am going till around 5am.
    3. in terms of budget- vegas is very accessible for a little or a lot of money
    $25 to $10,000 a night hotels
$25 presale tickets to $10000 tables at pools/nightclubs

Vegas nightclubs/pools really like girls you could get free entry on guestlists then meet guys to sit at tables etc.

feel free to ask any other questions!

First off, that budget is really generous, so you're going to have an amazing time. Have you already booked your plane tickets or are you trying to figure out the length of the trip as well? I usually recommend a week if you have the option, a lot of people just do a quick weekend trip, but I'd say a week gives you plenty of time to party in the day, party in the night, get some rest, go to a a couple of shows, try some restaurants, shop a bit, and not feel absolutely rushed. You could go longer, a lot of people assume they'll get bored, but really the town is so full of options you can't do anywhere close to everything in a week.

      1. I'd say either Encore or The Cosmopolitan are the best hotel choices.
Encore: Highest level of service, 3 clubs including arguably the best one in town, off toward it's own north
Cosmopolitan: 21-30 year old market is their only focus, rooms with balconies, a great club and concert venues, central location
It's a tough call between them, they both have their pluses and their minuses, but I'd probably lean toward Encore just because you have a lot of club options without having to even leave your hotel.

      2. Pool parties and clubs on your own should be a great time, everyone in Vegas is there to have a blast so the atmosphere is perfect for having fun. As a girl you'll get in relatively fast and free to pretty much any pool or club, so no super long waits in line and rarely a cover charge. I'd warn that if I was a single 22 year old female I might be a bit concerned about my safety, not because Vegas is unsafe, but because lots of places in Vegas encourage drinking to a ridiculous degree. Open bars that last an hour or 2, free drink tickets, and then the many offers of drinks and shots, especially if you sit at someone's table, can definitely add up to a pretty drunken time. But as a seasoned partier in Australia you're probably prepared more than most people and should have an amazing time.

      Shows:
      Absinthe
      The Beatles Love
      Le Reve

      Attractions:
      High Roller
      The Mirage Volcano
      The Bellagio Fountains

      Pools:
      Encore Beach Club
      Marquee Dayclub

      Clubs:
      Sunday: XS Nightswim
      Monday: XS
      Tuesday: Drai's Yacht Club
      Wednesday: Light
      Thursday: Surrender
Friday: All the clubs are open so a lot of choices
      Saturday: Same as Friday

Thanks both if you so much for the info!

Ill actually be in America for about three weeks and I've got 5 nights set aside for vegas. I'm kind of kicking myself now but that I didn't organise longer but oh well.

Nobody likes to talk them selves up but I've been told I'm good looking so I'm hoping I can use this in vegas ahah. I really hope that doesn't make me sound up myself!

It's just going to be so different for me cause when I go out in Aus I know all the bouncers and bar staff and there's always people I know out so people keep an eye on me. Havig no safety net is my concern but I'll just have to be a little more cautious.

I'll be there Thursday through to Monday I'm pretty sure so I'm hoping they're good days to be there!

I think you will be fine. Just stay on the strip. Mirage, Vdara, MGM Grand, Caesars, and Planet Hollywood have the best prices for a solo traveler that are still decent rooms! Try to enjoy a show, pool parties are gonna be off the chain in May so no worries there and you may meet a group of people to hangout with anyway. It happens alot. With it just being you try to connect with a host that may be doing group tables for girls and that would be an easy way to link up too!! And sometimes people link up on here too! Have fun sweetie!! Try not to gamble too much though

Thanks heaps for the advice! I was thinking it may be a good idea to check out who is going over at the same time from here when it gets a little closer to the date.
I've been eyeing off Caesars as a possible accommodation option but I'm still undecided. I got heaps of time to choose anyway I guess.
The pool parties are what I look forward to most! I reckon they will be awesome haha especially cause I've never experienced anything like that before.
