Purpose of Hosts - From A Vegas Newbie

I've been to Vegas about half a dozen times and consider myself quite knowledgable in many areas.

But I know almost nothing about hosts. I have never used a host, and am not really sure how they work / what they can do for me.

Are hosts just local experts who have great connections and can get us into clubs without waiting in line? Do they take care of concierge-type logistics? Are they able to arrange for special tickets to sold out shows, taking care of party needs, etc. Thanks for help and input.

a lot of people in vegas call themselves hosts

First thing to understand is does the host work for a certain casino/nightclub or is independent.
Then it kind of goes from there depending on your relationship/ what your looking for

I would start of primarily using a host for night club entry and table setups. As you start to build a reputation based on good business etiquette, you can branch out to more things.
