Allow me to re-introduce myself

1. As the title suggests, I'm not actually new here as such, but it's been so long since I used the boards, I thought I'd say hello again.

32 year old male from New Zealand (12 hour flight from LA, at the bottom of the pacific). Only been to Vegas once before, but loved it. I'd be there several times a year where it not for the whole distance thing. Didn't mean to leave it three and a bit years between trips, but its funny how time gets away on you.

I'll be in the US from Oct 31 to Nov 30, on a boys trip for the first week, then three weeks travelling solo but I have family and friends around the US and Canada, so I'll only be truly solo for part of those few weeks.

Currently waiting on the maybes in our group to get off the fence, but at this stage we have four of us definitely making the trip, with another four as possibilities. I'll start a thread in the get connected section (if I remember) when our numbers are locked in. Currently we're looking at starting in Vegas for Halloween weekend for a few nights. I might make the trek back to Vegas later in my trip, might not, will keep my eyes on the boards closer to the time.

Hey welcome back. I'm heading there the 1st of Nov. - 4th for my 30th. I've got a good ratio going with us this time If you want to split some bottle service. We're staying at the MGM this time around and have a terrace suite to party in. Right now it's us 2 guys and 4-6 girls. Halloween is crazy in vegas - just hoping mins. aren't jacked up to much.

Well, we don't know where we'll be staying at this stage, but if it's anywhere near the MGM, we'll surely join you for a drunk at least. Will run the idea of splitting a table with the boys and see what they have to say.
We haven't really looked at clubs yet, but the lads already have GBDC in their sights for a day party on Saturday. I would say that I'm keen to try new clubs from last time, but I got so legless each night last time around, they'll all be new to me.

I started a thread a month ago asking the pros/cons of a Halloween visit, only got one reply but it was very much pro. Seems like the mins aren't too different to a normal weekend but the parties are great. Fact it's not a bank holiday helps, I guess.

Where are you and your crew from? (I don't snub based on location, just curious)

Don't expect any of the day clubs to be open at that time. Most close end of Sept / Oct. We're probably going to head to light / hakkasan Sat night, Do hak or XS sunday and just play it by ear on Monday. We're all from Ohio - Cleveland specifically. Don't worry, won't dog you for liking the Pens - as long as it's not the steelers were good. I've seen mins get jacked up before since they started doing costume contests but that was just GA didn't really look at table mins.

GBDC is decent alternative. Personally, Im not a huge fan, but a lot my friends are. Maybe thats why is was a bit of let down for me, because my friends built it up so much. I definitely didnt think it was worth getting a table.

That was one hell of a first round series between the Jackets and the Pens, I was worried after the first four games (shame it didn't wake us up, though). I don't follow American Football, my Mom's from NYC so I started going for go for NY teams in all other sports after visiting there last time around, was already a bleed black and gold Pens fan (since the days of Super Maro and Jagr) by then so couldn't give them up. Kinda keep an eye on the Knicks, will say go Mets or Giants if they're on the TV but honestly could not name more than two Giants or a single Met.

Yea, my last visit was Summer and we did EBC on the Sunday of fourth of July weekend, still up there as one of the best days of my life.
Not really expecting anything like that from GBDC, but one of the boys is a first timer to Vegas, so will do it to show him the view, and a bit of day drinking. Agree 100% on not getting a table. We did the all you can drink for three hours last time on a Friday night, I remember how small the place was and we got seats ok without a table then. That, and we will find a bar to watch the All Blacks take on the USA Eagles in Rugby beforehand, so don't want to meet a host at a set time (game kicks off at 12:30).

Hakk and XS are both on my shortlist so we'll have to stay in touch for sure.

Trip update:
We've got 6 locked in, waiting on one more, but I'm not really counting on him making it.
We are also now waiting on set times for Voodoo Fest in New Orleans, as there's a chance we may swap the order of Vegas and New Orleans around. If Rise Against or Foo Fighters are playing Friday, it'll still be Vegas first as we don't want to change the order when we run the risk of missing headliners on Friday anyway (we land at SFO 12:30pm on Fri 31). Swapping the order would have us in Vegas Mon-Thur.
Set times should be out around the first week of Sept, if anyone wants to throw out warnings of hotels being over the top expensive by then, or full, lemme know.

Side note: If anyone reading is into Rise Against. I pre-ordered their new album, it arrived early on Friday, I've listed to it at least ten times already. Amazing, get it.

Yep, we'll have five for Friday/Saturday and one more for Sunday.

We're likely to do two nights of table service and one night of pre-sales out of the three, with Friday being a lock for bottles and the other two being up for debate.
I’ve put the idea of a table share to the boys, and the only one to get back to be was kind of lukewarm but I’ll be working on them, I’m pretty keen to do it myself.

It’s a possibility Sunday might be a bottle night, if so I’m also looking at Hakk and Xs for us, so let’s at least stay in touch. Even if I can’t convince the boys to split a table, you seem like a cool dude so I’d at least like a beer and a shot (or several) at some point.

We're doing tables Saturday and Sunday. Sat at light, still no idea who's playing that night and actually it's kind of depressing looking at their Oct. calender right now so I truly hope they step up their game from their fright night or whatever they call it. Sunday we're going to Hak to see Aoki - no way in hell I'm missing that one. Noah's been the man so far helping me out so drop him a line when you know what you're doing.

Any idea where you're staying yet?

I hear nothing but good things about Noah on here, so I'll be sure to do that.
Is he a Hakk contact, some of this has been a bit of a blur. I think I tried to take in too much of the forum at once and lost some of it. Took a step back but now it's all on until this schedule is locked!

Hakk on Sunday could be the place to be by the sounds of it, sounds like we could at least pre-game regardless of what goes down with regards to tables.

No idea where we'll be staying, that's on Dave, but that can't be far off. I've been nudging him in the direction of Cosmo, MGM and Planet Hollywood so we'll see soon.
