  • New Member w/ Bad Vegas experience

Just wanted to say "hey now" & that I'm glad to be a new member to this site. So far, all these posts have been great reads and I visit them occasionally. Since site is about Vegas and I'm new, I might as well share one of my Vegas experiences...they are usually bad.....

In one of my Vegas trips, a friend and I took one of those free bus tours to state line from L.A. Feeling "lucky", i took $400 and figured with my luck, i would double that. Bus arrived at Buffalo Bills @ 11:00 a.m. and I straight went to the Wheel of Fortune slot machine. My friend suggest to put in $20 and spin max. The machine wasn't paying out. My friend said to keep putting in money and it will pay out big time. After 45 minutes, I lost $380. After that, I was literally done, broke and had to walk outside to catch some air, thank God I had a free buffet coupon from the trip. After being in the hot sun for 1 hour and reluctant to spend my last $20, I go back to the same machine to see it vacant. I was about to put my last $20 until a heavy set lady sits in the same machine, puts $20 and HITS THE FREAKING JACKPOT!!! That pretty much scared me straight into not gambling anymore, "for a while".

Welcome to the site. I had a similar experience on my first trip, except the jackpot portion. Mine was a 5 day trip and went through about 75% of my money in the first couple hours of being there. That was tough to deal with. I have since learned a valuable lesson

Man I know that feeling. My first trip to Vegas. Second night there we went out to Lavo, I ended up blacking out. woke up the next day, checked my funds and realized i literally blew my whole trip budget with 2 days left to be there. Luckily I was able to scrape together enough to get by, but a lesson was definitely learned.

True, but it's a lot harder to win when you're chasing your money after the first 3 hours of being there

Same as mine, 5 days is way way way too long and that is the biggest lesson I had learned.

I think everyone has had that fucked up first experience. My trip budget grows every time I go and it's always for the same amount of time. My first time I only had $400 for four days. Now I'm bring 4k for tables and all the other bullshit. FML
