  • The Vegas Experience for 2 Gents from Perth, Australia

    Grettings Coltians,

Firstly thank you for the contributions on this site and forums, it has been a tremendous help already.

My besty man and I are travelling over in April to attend Coachella first and then Las Vegas.

We are doing the drive from LA to Vegas in a sports car (we are both car enthusiasts) and should be arriving on the evening of the 22nd abnd staying for three nights before heading back to Perth, Australia.

At this stage we are still looking at hotels with the Venetian at the top of list but open to suggestions.

We have no hard and fast must do list for our trip except to embrace everything Vegas can throw at us.

A trip to a Gentlemen's club such as Sapphire or Spearmint Rhino seems in order given the reviews on this site. We also want to visit some clubs especially as I see resident DJs may include Deadmau5 and Skrillex. Unsure on catching a show at this stage but not ruling it out. Basically this is my Bachelor After-Party and a fun time is our mission.

Any advice is truly welcome and appreciated.

    Matthew

Welcome AllenMD...can't go wrong with Venetian/Pallazo for the hotel. Great location, great hotel.
Best meal I've ever put in my face was at Valentino in the Venetian. They have a separate fine dining area that
seats about 30 people or so as I recall.

It's a good idea to work in one place with a view of the city at night...MIX is my personal favorite, but Ghostbar would do nicely also, as would Foundation Room. Another must in my book is a stop by Hyde. Having some drinks right under the fountains is pretty awesome, and it's a really cool venue all around.

I suggest Marquee on Monday night, 1OAK on Tuesday, Surrender on Wednesday (anyone know if splash dance will be going in April?)
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

April 26 - Drive back to LA

I have used the JC contact option to get in touch with hosts from each of the clubs listed to find out their best deals so we can lock those in. Now we just need to sort out some decent places to eat and also for fun during the day of an alcoholic/hedonistic variety.

Any comments or suggestions more than welcome.

          Hi Matthew-
Coachella should be a pretty memorable experience!
Keep in mind the two big brand new clubs Light at mandalay bay and Hakkasan which is at MGM Grand open on 4/26!
So 4/26 4/27 there should be big headline talent in vegas.
Hopefully you can extend your trip a few days

Another thing to keep in mind because you are traveling from so far away is the Grand Canyon. You might want to take a trip out there- south rim- also because Vegas can be very slow during Monday- Thursday.
A round trip bus from Vegas is about $80 each, a flyover could run you about $250 each, or its a $25 admission fee per car if you drive out.

          Also Keep in mind
XS is open Friday, Sat, Sunday, Monday
Marquee is open Friday, Sat, Monday
Also a lot of the bigger pool parties are on Saturday and Sunday.

If I was you I would stay in a very cheap hotel on Monday night around $25 a night instead of MGM Grand.
Because you are getting in late and are going to a club so your not really going to spend but a few hours in the hotel.
You can get a room in vegas for $25 which is what you would be spending on the per day MGM resort fee. Switch to something nice on Tuesday if your spending time in the room. If you have a nice car you can valet it at any hotel on the strip and not worry about it.
