  • First Timer to Vegas - Advice Requested

    Hello JC members,

First of all I must say that JC is the most comprehensive and helpful resource about Vegas. I am coming to Vegas for the first time, from Dubai. Will be there from 29th March 2013 till 3rd April 2013. I request JC members and Vegas veterans to help me plan my itinerary. To start with, I have few queries:

    1. I will be visiting Vegas solo, and would love to make new friends, so what are my options for night clubs and bottle service? I would want to have bottle service for 2 nights. If anyone wants to join and split, I would be more than welcoming. Willing to absorb 60% of the cost of bottle service myself. Which 2 clubs are my best options? (I can go with any type of music). What will be the cost of bottle service at these clubs? Which nights should I plan for BS? I will be there from Friday till Wednesday.

    2. I also want to experience the pool parties. Which pools will be open in last week of March (or first week of April). I want to do 2 pool parties so which 2 days will be the best options and which pools? Would like to have a cabana too and BS. If anyone wants to join, I will absorb 60% of the cost of BS.

    3. I would prefer a suite over a room. Which hotels on the strip offer spacious suites. My preference of suite is just because if want to invite some friends to my suite to have some pre- or after-party. I also want to stay on the strip.

    4. I always love fine dining. What are my options for fine dining? Just FYI, I love beef steaks.

    5. And yes, gambling!!! which casinos on the strip have best roulette wheels and blackjack tables. I only play these 2 games. What are table minimums and maximums for roulette and blackjack?

I am sure that JC members and Vegas veterens will help me out here. And if any of you have the same visiting dates as mine, may be we can meet there too.

P.S. If you are recommeding any nightclub or pool, please suggest the host whom I can contact for reservations. Thanks!

You'll probably want to stay at the Cosmo, the Aria, the Mirage, or Planet Hollywood. If my group was going to hang out at some random dudes suite, it would probably be at one of these hotels. I can personally recommend the Wraparound suite at the Cosmo. The room has a large living room, extra bathroom, and a HUGE terrace to 'entertain' with. The bedroom is pretty sick too.

As for fine dining, it's all over in Vegas now. The Cosmo has a couple good restaurants. The seafood at Estiatorio Milos was great. There's a couple Joel Robuchon restaurants at the MGM Grand. I've heard good things about Picasso in the Bellagio, and the steakhouse in Caesar's (can't remember the name right now).

    Hope this helps

As for gambling, it's all about personal preference. You can find roulette and blackjack everywhere. You'll find single zero wheels in higher limit sections.

There's other people on here with better knowledge on the clubs than myself. I'm sure somebody will chime in

            Welcome to the site WorldTraveler!

            1. Top clubs right now are Marquee, XS, and Tao. Hakkasan may be open by then which is making a real play to be in the top 3. If you want the quintessential, big, over the top Vegas club experience then those will be your spots. Marquee and XS are primarily EDM based, Tao has a good mix of EDM and open format and hiphop...sounds like Hakkasan will be mostly EDM based as well.

Other great clubs that are more intimate/smaller are Hyde, 1OAK, Tryst, and Haze. Light may be open by then as well...they haven't released much information though so not really sure what to expect there.

The cost of bottle service will vary greatly depending on the club and where you want to be located. If you just want a table and don't really care where it's located plan on about $600/3 people. On the other end of the price range is dance floor tables. Depending on the DJ they will go for about $6000 minimum, more if a big name DJ is there. All other tables will fall somewhere in between. In general for good table location and 6 people I'd plan on a $1500-2000 minimum. After tax and tips that works out to $2300-3000 all in.

            2. Pool parties will be open then for the most part...the weather can be hit and miss so it will depend on that a bit. Saturday and Sunday will be the best days for pool parties. Encore Beach Club and Marquee Day Club are the tops spots at the moment. A cabana will probably run you in the $1500-2000 range.

            3. The Cosmo Wraparound Suite is tough to beat for entertaining. Another good option is the Executive Hospitality Suite at Aria.
I'd personally go with one of those two options for the money.

            4. Fine dining options are endless. Here's a thread that lists restaurants with great steaks...

            5. All casinos have Blackjack and Roulette...on the strip you'll typically see minimums in the $10-15 for Blackjack and $5 for roulette. Maximums are generous on the floor, and even more so in the high-roller lounges. I believe Aria has 3-4 roulette tables, and a lot of Blackjack...Bellagio has a good amount of tables as well. If you're looking for high limit action I'd go to Bellagio.

My personal favorite hosts...all great guys, take great care of their clients, and get the most love from the JC community:

Thank you Chuck for valuable information, much appreciated Thanks to RoxieCris and Joey Orr too.

I hope I can meet you guys when I am in Vegas.

My guess is that I should have $10K for 5-days trip to Vegas. 2 nightclubs and 2 pool parties, must be fun.

Hey Chuck, thank you for a very detailed response. I really appreciate that. Hope you wont mind another query. I have read in some posts that sometimes when you are done with your table minimums/bottles, the club people ask you to leave the table for other clients, unless you buy more bottles. How true is that? Does this happen frequently in XS, Haze and the Bank in particular?

Since this is my first time in Vegas, may be thats why I am a bit conscious.

Hello Joey Orr, thank you for extending your help. I will be contacting you in few days. Chuck mentioned your contact number. Can you please tell how to dial it from outside USA, coz I will be in Dubai and Amsterdam before coming to Vegas. Is it 001-586-873-4876? Or do I have to dial some more code before your number?

You will just need a WiFi connection or get on the net through your local 3G/4G mobile network
