  • Awesome site, finally dove in and created an account.

First I would like to say thank you, JC members. Like others, I have been lurking for a while. This site has proven to be a wealth of Vegas knowledge.

As a kid, I was lucky enough to have parents that took us to Vegas for family vacations...
Who remembers the water slides about 20 feet off the strip (maybe Venetian location now?)
I also remember the Fremont Street before the covering. And when the first mega-resort Mirage opened up.

Being in So-Cal I can still visit a couple times a year.
With that being said, heading out tomorrow morning. Just pack your bags and go. Now! Do it!

Yup, money talks and it shows. Its all glitz and glamour now with the mega-resorts everywhere. But it's a nice release the from the everyday grind.

I woke wayyyy too early this morning thinking about our road trip today and couldnt go back to sleep. Oh well, I can sleep when I'm dead.

Have a good weekend everyone, in Vegas or not.

I think you mean Wet n Wild I caught the Vegas bug at the age of 7 and it's never gone away! 10th birthday I chose Vegas to celebrate. I remember looking at the MGM Back Lot thing they used to have and was so mad I never got to actually go before they tore it out

haha Wet N Wild. I think I remember that. I remember going to Vegas and the parents taking us to Stardust for the prime rib. LOL.

I take my kids(4 and 7) now at least 4 times a year and they always ask to ride the Gondola @ Venetian and they know all the top buffet names like Wicked Spoon and M Buffet. LOL. We've even had limos that took us to dinners a couple times. That was a treat for them. Only in Vegas right?! haha.

                    Thank you for the 'welcomes'!

I may be old-school but I loved the sound of the coins hitting the slot machine tray when you walk into the casino. It lets you know you are in VEGAS. Otherwise it's a smoke-filled room with lots of blinking lights - I may as well be in a local Bingo parlor

After 5 days in Vegas, my blood alcohol level is just returning back to normal. The tables were being nice and so I didnt leave completely broke. I am already looking forward to my next trip in June!
