Slightly unusual question but what is the consensus on skinny jeans on men? Specifically would it get funny looks over in LV. I sometimes wear them and was planning on taking a pair with me but decided against it at the last minute. My reasoning was as follows:

Over here in London it is fairly common to see guys, particularly around the Rock music scene wearing skinnies so it is not that strange a sight. However it dawned on me that the same Rock/Indie band fashion/scene doesn't exist in the States and so skinnies are primarliy associated with emo and skater kids and the Jonas brothers and hence it probably doesn't project a particularly edgy or cool image.

That said I have seen Slash rocking the skinnies a few times but not many other American rockstars.

Haha, yeah that was the other Skinny jean wearing celeb I figured they would be aware of in the states but I avoided mentioning him as I don't particularly wanna be associated with him or his style...... That being said I certainly wouldn't complain if I ended up copping off with Katy Perry!

Bit of a double edged sword I guess. As a musician when I see rockstars like Slash or Steven Tyler rocking the skinnies I think it looks pretty cool. Slightly camp comedian like Russel Brand....hmmm...not so much...

If you are a trying to project the emo/skater look, go for it.

I personally think, skinny jeans should only be worn by females. Period

Cheers for all the replies guys. In the end I have decided to leave them out of my suitcase. Bottom line with skinnies or any item of clothing for that matter is that you have to wear them with confidence. Any hint of self doubt or self consciousness and people will pick up on it, so this trip I will be in slim fit denim all the way.

Anyways, much as I would love to stick around and shoot the shit.....I've got a plane to catch.
