I know I'm early, but I'm a planner!

Going again with a friend for the 5th year in a row. 2 women in our early 30's. We have stayed at the Wynn for the past two years, but will stay at the Encore this time (big switch, haha!).

Still deciding what weekend to go, definitely not EDC weekend because it's too crowded for us. What weekend has the most British or Australian tourists? #askingforafriend lol

Last year I met a few people from JC and it was fun! Anyone else out there already planning for June?

My group (5 guys) is going the first weekend in June. I have been reading this board for months but didn't post because I was so far out from my trip. I figure now that we are in 2015 then I can start planning and posting. We like to go the first weekend in June because it is two weeks after Memorial Day and two weeks before EDC. Last year Vegas was packed that weekend and there were great DJs performing. I am always concerned that if we go the week before or after Memorial Day or the week before or after EDC then the big name DJs will be taking a week off from Vegas. We stay at the Cosmo. I like the vibe at the Cosmo - seems like lots of people in their 30s are there and everyone is very social. Marquee Day Club is awesome.

That's a good point (about the 2-weeks gap), although last year we went a week before EDC and saw Avicii. I've been trying to catch Fatboy Slim but I never seem to pick the right date. We've thought about the Cosmo, but the rooms seem small in pictures - what has your experience been?

I have stayed at Wynn and Encore when in Vegas for work (when entertaining clients). Rooms in Wynn/Encore and Cosmo are contemporary and have good technology. But the rooms at Wynn/Encore are definitely a step up from Cosmo. The rooms at Wynn/Encore are huge and awesome. I don't think you would be disappointed in the rooms at Cosmo - they are definitely cool (way way way better than the middle of the pack hotels like MGM) - but if you are looking for a nicer room then Wynn/Encore is for you. In terms of the hotel outside of the room, Wynn/Encore are great. XS, Surrender, Tryst and Encore Beach Club are all in Wynn/Encore. You could stick to Encore Beach Club during the day and XS at night and have a great trip. For me the difference is the vibe at Wynn/Encore versus Cosmo. I read a post on this board from someone comparing Wynn/Encore and I think he summed it up well (I have spent the last 2 months since I found this forum reading what must be every post every made on this forum). Wynn/Encore is super nice and you will see all sorts of people there - 25-45 year olds partying, families with children, older (50+ couples) and hard core gamblers. Wynn/Encore oozes money. A friend of a friend of a friend works at Wynn and says the amount of cash Wynn spends to get every detail right is ridiculous. If I went to Vegas with my parents then we would without a doubt stay at Wynn/Encore. Cosmo on the other hand is more social, the age range is pretty much 25-45. You will see very few kids and very few older people. You also won't see many hardcore gamblers. As the other poster put it, Cosmo is like one giant pick up scene. When I travel for work I always stay at a very nice hotel. When I am traveling with friends I look for more of a social hotel. I am sure many will say hey Wynn/Encore is plenty social, but in my experience Cosmo has a completely different vibe. Maybe you should stay at Encore and then spend time at Cosmo to check it out.

Thanks for all the info! I've been looking at pics and it looks like the Terrace rooms are bigger and nicer. I like those. Like I said, we stayed at the Wynn in 2014 and 2013 and we are spoiled now. Everything is so beautiful, the rooms are big and like you said, everything is there. No cabs needed. Last year we only left twice (to go to Marquee Dayclub and Light one night). Before that we stayed two years at The Venetian, which was nice too. When we made the switch we looked into the Cosmo but my friend's co-worker said the crowd was 21-year-olds and we were too old for it! lol Jerk! Of course, he was in his early 20's himself. We haven't booked anything yet, still looking. Planning and reading JC forums help contain the anxiety!!

LOL I know this feeling well. The only solution I know of is to plan more frequent trips!

I've done EDC weekend (2012) and following EDC weekend (2013). Traffic is really bad in town during EDC. My group really enjoyed the last weekend of June last summer, it's right between EDC and July 4th weekend, so many DJ are staying in between and prices are ok.

I think everyone should go the first weekend in June because that's when I will be there. Except dudes - dudes should all go a different weekend.

That is crushing me! My group will (as noted) be in Vegas that weekend. But we are effectively locked into Marquee Friday day through Sunday day. Marquee is not open Sunday night so that's when we go to XS Night Swim. If only Kaskade were playing XS Night Swim. It is almost like Kaskade didn't take into account my schedule. No Diplo, no Kaskade. Ugh.
